00:05James is a shiny red engine.

00:09He always likes to look his best,

00:12and he likes his friends to know he's the smartest engine on Sodor.

00:18Thomas, Percy and Emily were at Tidmouth Sheds.

00:22James arrived. He'd been to the fitters' yard for repairs.

00:26He was excited to get back to work.

00:29I hope I get an important job today, wheezed James.

00:34The Fat Controller arrived.

00:36I need an engine for a special, boomed the Fat Controller.

00:40The Mayor must be taken to the Festival of Lights at the Scottish Castle.

00:45I'm the perfect engine for that job, sir, James whistled.

00:49Very well, James, said the Fat Controller.

00:52James was delighted.

00:55Thomas, Emily and Percy, added the Fat Controller,

00:58if you finish your jobs in time, you can all go to the festival too.

01:03I can't wait to see the festival, peeped Percy.

01:07Neither can I, wheezed Emily.

01:09You'll be the star of the show, James, tooted Thomas.

02:18Thomas puffed up with a long line of coal trucks.

03:34On the way to collect the mare, James passed the Scottish castle.

03:39It looked wonderful.

03:42Everything was ready for the festival, and the Fat Controller was waiting.

03:47But there were no engines.

03:49James was surprised.

03:51Where are Thomas and Percy and Emily?

03:54They haven't finished their work yet, boomed the Fat Controller,

03:57so they won't be here for the festival.

04:02James felt terrible.

04:04I must help my friends, otherwise they won't be here to see me be the star of the show.

04:13James found Thomas.

04:15He was still having trouble with his coal trucks.

04:18I'm going to miss the festival, he sighed sadly.

06:12After helping his friends, he didn't look smart at all,

06:16and he certainly didn't feel like the star of the show.

06:20James, said the Fat Controller,

06:22you are a very hard-working and really useful engine.

06:27James was amazed.

06:30You're not cross with me, sir,

06:33even though my flags are drooping and I'm covered in coal dust and quarry dust and fish.

06:38What matters, James, said the Fat Controller,

06:42is that you helped all your friends and safely delivered your important passenger.

06:47Well done!

06:49James was very happy,

06:52and his friends all thought that James was still the star of the show.
