00:00Anyway, with all these people and experiences to draw on,

00:09like the origins of Boise's famous laugh.

00:11There was one episode where John, quite out of the blue,

00:14just did this weird laugh.

00:17Just off the cuff, it wasn't in the script.

00:20And then when he came to do the next episode,

00:22I think it was a series later, a year later,

00:24and John Sullivan had written in the script,

00:26Boise does his laugh.

00:27And John said, what laugh?

00:29He said, you know, that laugh you did in that episode.

00:31So he had to go back and listen to it again.

00:41It had actually come from a moment in a pub

00:44when he'd heard this woman who had this ghastly,

00:48cackling laugh.

00:49And he had, for fun, copied it.

00:51And everywhere he went, John, all his life

00:53until his dying day, people would say, go on, John,

00:56do the laugh.

00:57Do the laugh.
