Vivienne Tam unveiled her much-anticipated Spring/Summer 2025 collection under the renowned Alexander III Bridge in Paris last week. Paris Jackson, daughter of music legend Michael Jackson, opened the runway show for the new line, 'La Li -- Hainan Breeze.' The SS25 collection takes inspiration from the island of Hainan, often called China's Hawaii, and its culturally rich heritage. Tam embarks on a journey to the far-flung Wuzhishan (Five Finger Mountain) to pay homage to the Lí Jǐn ethnic minority, whose 3,000-year-old brocade weaving tradition has been recognized as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. The Chinese designer told us backstage that she wanted to blend the ancient heritage with modern sophistication for the younger generation to wear. As for Jackson opening her Paris Fashion Week show, she says, 'It's magic.'
