00:00Police fired tear gas to disperse supporters of Pakistan's former Prime Minister Imran Khan
00:08during an anti-government rally on Friday.
00:11Despite a ban by the government on public gatherings,
00:14the protesters remained adamant
00:16and took to the streets to demand the release of Khan from prison.
00:24We have arrived from Dehras Mil Khan.
00:27There were many obstacles and bad roads,
00:29but Mohsin Naqvi has lost.
00:31We have crossed the obstacles and reached D-Chowk.
00:34Mohsin Naqvi, increase the number of containers.

00:51Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said,
00:53while citizens have the right to gather,
00:55this is not the right time or right way to protest.
00:58Many protesters evaded the blockades
01:01and reports said that Khan's sisters
01:03were also detained by law enforcement.
01:06Khan was convicted for corruption
01:08and breach of marriage laws.
01:10Authorities had sealed off the Pakistani capital
01:13and blocked cell phone services to prevent the rally.
01:16Shipping containers blocked entry points to Islamabad,
01:19guarded by police and paramilitary troops.
01:22The city is preparing to host a conference
01:24on October 15 and 16,
01:26attended by world leaders and dignitaries,
01:28including Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar
01:32and Chinese Premier Li Qiang.
