00:00The Department of Agriculture recorded a 90% antibody count

00:04from the pigs vaccinated against African Swine Fever.

00:09It was recorded 28 days after the pigs were crushed in Lobo, Batangas.

00:14According to DA's spokesperson, Asek Arnel Demesa,

00:17this proves that the vaccine is effective.

00:20They hope that this will continue and will be the basis

00:24of the Food and Drug Administration to have commercial approval for the vaccine.

00:29As of now, the number of barangays affected by the ASF has increased to 534

00:35this October, from 458 barangays last August.

00:39With the help of the government and a group of pigs breeders,

00:44they asked Agriculture Secretary Francisco Chu Laurel Jr.

00:48to convince President Ferdinand R. Marquez Jr.

00:51to approve the emergency use authorization of the ASF vaccine from Vietnam.
