00:00All right, so let's get started here, the state of Massachusetts coming down here a

00:06little bit on BetMGM facing some non-compliance issues.

00:10Why don't you tell us more about what the story is and how they'll be affected?

00:15Yeah, so BetMGM came under the microscope in Massachusetts in recent weeks for allowing

00:24a ton, 15,000, in fact, 15,000 unapproved bets on college football player props.

00:34And, you know, Craig, as you know, over the last several months, really, the college football

00:40betting, college sports betting in general, especially the player prop side of it, has

00:46come under a bunch of scrutiny.

00:49A lot of states have outlawed it, not allowed in Massachusetts, but BetMGM was accepting

00:55bets on college football player props, 15,000 of them, like I said, for upwards of $200,000

01:03in bets.

01:04And obviously, the Massachusetts Gaming Commission didn't like that all that much.

01:10In addition to that, there were some bets that BetMGM took in Massachusetts on soccer

01:17matches, prop bets around the number of penalty cards that would be issued in a match.

01:25And if that sounded familiar, that's because it happened to BetMGM in Tennessee a handful

01:32of months ago, and they got hit with a pretty sizable fine in Tennessee for doing the same

01:38thing.

01:39So a lot of this went undetected at first on the part of BetMGM.

01:45So they ended up hiring an outside company to come in and audit some of their practices,

01:53some of their policies, and they uncovered a handful of other noncompliance issues.

02:00Now, the Massachusetts Gaming Commission did say at a meeting in the last couple of weeks

02:06that they'll be reviewing this matter even further.

02:10They'll bring it up at a future meeting.

02:13And as you know, too, Craig, the MGC is probably one of, if not the most publicly out there,

02:21if you will, when it comes to a lot of their regulations, and all of their meetings are

02:26streamed online live publicly.

02:29So the public constituents, reporters like myself, can get eyes and ears on everything

02:35that they're discussing.

02:37So this BetMGM noncompliance issue will come up at a meeting in the not too distant future,

02:43I'm sure.
