00:00All right, here we go. Gator the, you know, scuttlebutt the last couple of days here is
00:04Devante Adams as apparently possibly going to get traded by the Raiders. If he does get
00:08traded, where does he end up? I know there's a lot of speculation about him going to new
00:14Orleans or the jets to play with one of his former quarterbacks. But I think in the end
00:19he'll end up in Pittsburgh is Pittsburgh will make the best offer. And that's how that works.
00:23It's, it's not where Devante wants to go. It's what do the Raiders want to do with the
00:28pick and look, he's a perfect fit for Pittsburgh. I talked a little bit about it yesterday.
00:32I think the chemistry he can develop with, with Justin Fields, they are so desperate
00:36to have a wide receiver option and he's one of the best in football. He'll make that offense
00:42so much better. He'll make Pittsburgh a better team. And they're going to be right back in
00:45a playoffs where we've always seen them. I think the tea leaves are there that a GM wants
00:49him. And I think the jets GM coach and quarterback, Aaron Rogers wants him in New York. So I think
00:55Aaron Rogers is going to trade for him and he'll give a future draft picks that he won't
00:58even be around to not use.
01:00Does Aaron Rogers like his former teammates as he tried to get in them jobs before? Yeah.
01:04Gator, I agree with you. I think it's a seal is just because other than the fact they actually
01:08need them, they were very aggressive for Brandon. I you can, apparently they had a deal done,
01:13but I didn't want to go there. So I think they offer up something pretty similar to
01:16what they're offering up for Brandon. I, you, I think they need them on the offense. He
01:19goes well with pickings. Listen, Justin Fields is not as good of a quarterback as Aaron Rogers
01:24or Derek Carr, at least throwing the football. But I think Adams will learn to live with
01:28that because he's going to a winner. He's had the stats in yards in this league. I think
01:32this point he wants to try to win. The Steelers are off to a good start. I think the Steelers
01:36get it done and Adams will say, okay, I'll go over there.
01:40All right. Which team has had the most impressive start so far, guys? I'm going with the Minnesota
01:46Vikings behind MVP, Sam Darnold. If you have to pick it at the quarter post, I don't know
01:51how you can pick anybody other than him. He has been unbelievable. The only question
01:55is, is it sustainable? And I'm not convinced of that just yet, but boy, if they be an impressive,
02:01what they did last week at Green Bay, when Jordan Love came back, blows my mind. Didn't
02:05expect that. Well, the question was most impressive start. We don't know how they're going to
02:09finish, but I think it's Minnesota by light years.
02:12Nobody thought that Sam Darnold had anything left in him because frankly, Sam Darnold sucked
02:16in the NFL, but look at him now. 4-0 atop the NFC North. He's resurrected his career
02:22over there, working with all those weapons that they have in Minnesota. They've got a
02:26good defense. It's a 4-0 start for the Vikings. I don't know how they're going to finish,
02:31but the question was, who's had the most impressive start? And there's no doubt it's Minnesota.
02:35I've got the commanders, guys. I mean, Minnesota has a good defense and they've got weapons
02:39on offense. The Darnold thing, yeah, unexpected completely, but he's doing great over there.
02:42So for me, the commanders have less talent and a rookie quarterback is Jane Daniels,
02:47CJ Stroud. Like this is unreal what he's doing. His completion percentage is through the roof.
02:53Amazing what they've done over there with, with a rookie quarterback, three in one leading
02:56that division. For me, the commanders have been the most impressive. It's a good case.
03:00All right. According to the AP, two European trips in the NFL schedule could become more
03:07common. That means that a team going like to London, for example, would stay over there,
03:12be a home team one week and then following week be a road team. That's what Jacksonville
03:16is doing actually this year. This could be more common, but it doesn't have to be London.
03:19It could be Germany. It could be anywhere. They just stay over in Europe or wherever
03:22they're staying internationally. Do you think this is actually a better compromise than
03:26actually having a full-time like European team?
03:29I think it is. I actually, this is something that makes sense. You know, I'm not a fan
03:32of playing overseas, but if you're going to do it and if you're going to send that many
03:35teams over, why not send four teams over and they just switch up? I think it's, it's a
03:40great idea. From a travel aspect to those teams can now have a bi-week when they come
03:45back stateside. That makes sense. I don't think the league, the league doesn't need
03:50expansion yet, but it's inevitable. They're going to, are they going to put teams in London
03:55or in Europe? I don't know. We know that the 18 game schedule is inevitable. We'll see
04:00if the expansion to there is inevitable.
04:02So one of my bold ass predictions this year in the NFL was that Roger Goodell would announce
04:06expansion coming up at the Superbowl press conference with eight teams joining the league.
04:12And I think there'll be a bunch in Europe. So no, I don't think this is a better idea.
04:17I kind of like it to be honest with you. I think the players are starting. It sounds
04:20like they don't hate it as much either. You know, it's world's a smaller place than it
04:25used to be. So I, I don't like this as a better, I mean, I can see why they're doing it, but
04:30I think they're looking at expansion and I think there's going to be teams in Europe
04:33soon.
04:34So you think, you think there's going to be expansion, but do you like this idea? No,
04:38you don't like the idea of having the teams go there and play twice.
04:40No, I think along with the expansion will make more sense just to have teams playing
04:45home games over there.
04:46So for me, this is like a rock and a hard place. I don't like the expansion to international
04:50cities. And, but is this a better option? Yes. Just because I don't want the teams,
04:56you know, I don't want the NFL expanding to London or wherever. I actually think it kind
05:01of raises an eyebrow though. I think the fact that they're open to this means maybe
05:04it isn't as easy as getting a London team as we all thought and inevitable.
05:09Maybe they're compromising because, Hey, this might take longer. It might be 20, you know,
05:1440 by the time we get team out there. So in the meantime, to grow the game is what they
05:18say. Let's just keep doing this. I like it better than actually having a full-time team
05:22over there because the opposite would be them having to stay in America for two weeks, right?
05:27And playing and traveling back to their hometown, which would be London or wherever. But I guess
05:32in the, in the end, I like this better, but I think the international team's not quite
05:36as, as ready as if they thought it was all right.
05:41The last two Mondays guys, we've had overlapping Monday night football games, two more on the
05:45schedule this year. Do you like this?
05:48No, I can only watch one at a time. And quite frankly, I have to think real hard about who
05:53the other game was.
05:55Well, this week was tough because the line, exactly, exactly. The worst game ever. So,
06:00you know, the idea that you could flip around. I don't, I don't like that. Just let me zero
06:05in on one Monday night game. I don't, I never at any point during Monday night, I'll either
06:09turn a game off or watch the whole thing. I've never thought, God, I wish there were
06:13more games on. So no, I don't like it.
06:16I hate this idea. I don't know. I mean, of course it's all done my money and they can
06:20make a little bit more money, but I hate it because it takes away the specialness
06:25of being able to play on Monday night. Now you've got more teams. It just, I don't like
06:31that. Actually ESPN for Monday night football this past week, they averaged over 20 million
06:36viewers with the overlap for both games, but the Sunday night game on Peacock, 22.3 million
06:46people tuned in to watch the Ravens and bills. So, I mean, what does that tell you? People
06:52would rather want, I think they'd rather see the one game than the two games.
06:55Well, it depends on the game, the Ravens bills. That's a great matchup. Sure. But it's also
06:58on Peacock. Well, so do you don't, you don't like it? You're done. No, I don't want to
07:04interrupt you. I don't like it, but I don't think the NFL cares. And I think for the games,
07:09yeah, I like having the one game because it's special, but I don't think having one game
07:12guarantees you get ratings though. Gator. So the 20 million that you talk about for
07:15Monday night, this past week, 15 million, we're watching the lions. Okay. The other
07:20five are watching the dolphins tight. And so you're saying, wow, that's a big discrepancy,
07:23but 5 million is still a lot of people to get watching a television show on a Monday
07:27night. So I don't think that the NFL cares. I think they're thinking we got 20 million
07:32and it doesn't matter how we split it up. Right? No, they don't care. But the question
07:35was, do I like it? No, I hate it. No, I don't like it either, but this is just, they're
07:39going to continue to do it because it's all about the money.
07:45What team needs a win the most this week? I think it's Cincinnati. They're dangerously
07:50close to being completely irrelevant. They need a win over a division rival Baltimore
07:55just to get back into kind of contention here. I mean, this is a big game division game.
08:00People are really down on the Bengals right now. Offensively they came back and they they've
08:04looked better, but you know, they're, they're one in three right now. Can they afford to
08:09go one in four? I mean, we're talking about dangerous territory here. I think it's Cincinnati.
08:14They desperately need the win. I think it's Dallas. They are two and two in their game
08:17behind Washington, but after they play Pittsburgh this weekend and they got to get wins anywhere
08:22they can, their schedule has them against Detroit at San Francisco at Atlanta, Philly,
08:28Houston at Washington, Dallas needs every win they can find, or they're going to fade
08:33from this thing quickly.
08:36Yeah, Dallas is a good call. The Niners are another team that need a win. I mean, there's
08:39a lot of teams right now that on the cusp of being maybe just falling too far behind.
08:44In the end, I agree with you Gator. I'm going with Cincinnati. The tiebreaker for me was
08:47it's a divisional game. So not only do you lose a game, you're going to lose the tiebreaker,
08:52which essentially it's two games. Now, of course they play, you know, they play the
08:55Ravens again, but one in four is really tough to come, come by. I don't care how talented
08:59this roster is. They eventually have to win games and this one might be putting them too
09:03far behind because that division is tough. I mean, the Browns, they need to win as well.
09:07Steelers are already off to a good start, so I'm going with the Bengals.
09:15All right, last one, guys. The Cowboys owner, Jerry Jones, showed up to practice in a helicopter.
09:20That's right, a helicopter. He landed it on the turf right next to the practice field
09:24where the players were practicing. Your thoughts on this move?
09:29It is such a flex from a man who has not grown out of flexing. And I can't even picture Sheila
09:38Ford Hampt doing this, although maybe she should now to mock him, land a helicopter
09:43on the practice field and come strutting out with a glass full of bourbon in her hand.
09:48I seriously, Jerry is so Jerry. And that's why I mentioned Dallas needs the win. I hope
09:54they don't get it. This is a guy that made draft selections from his yacht. Remember
10:00that? Yes, this jackass. He's such a massive tool with the most massive ego. I hope the
10:07team turns on him and I hope that turn is and the revolt is led by the quarterback who
10:12just says, would you just stay away? Honestly, you're not the coach. You're not the GM.
10:18Yeah, she is the GM. I know what I'm saying. You shouldn't be. You're not the coach. You're
10:22the owner of the team. Stay in the lane of ownership. Enjoy the fact that you're the
10:26owner of the team. You're horrible. Otherwise stay away. Call me a tool. This is a boss
10:33move. And I think I do the same thing. This is right out of a movie or an HBO show. People
10:37act like they wouldn't act like Jerry Jones or Mark Cuban. If they were to own a team
10:41when in fact more would than would not, they would do boss moves.
10:45They would make draft picks from their yacht. They would name themselves the president and
10:49GM of the team. You own the team. So listen, I don't like Jerry Jones. Does he rub me the
10:54wrong way sometimes? Sure. But this is a boss move. There's no other way to put it. He landed
10:58a helicopter during practice. And that concludes the Y nine Omaha four down around the league
11:05blitz thingy.
