00:02It has a lot of potential, it's close to the sea, and a beautiful view.
00:06But, it needs a lot of work.
00:08In the coming years, we'll be tearing down this annex, tearing down this barn, and revamping the building.
00:15We look forward to a wonderful journey.
00:20We traveled 1600 kilometers to view an abandoned Italian house that we found online.
00:25We had never been to this region of Italy, but what we found was amazing.
00:29An old villa, built in palazzo style, located in a valley of rolling hills, with a modest sea view and a 5 minute drive to the beach.
00:36The villa was abandoned for 25 years, as you can tell by the plants growing in the roof.
00:40The shutters and windows are partly broken, and when it rains, the water comes in.
00:44As with most abandoned houses, it appeared the house was left in a hurry, and inside we found a lot of trash, but also treasures.
00:51We never looked at another house again, and we didn't do a technical check.
00:55We fell in love with this house.
00:57People say we are crazy, but are we?
01:01What would you expect from a house called a palazzo by the broker?
01:04We thought marble hallways, painted ceilings, and all tiled flooring.
01:08But once we opened the shutters, and the light came in, we were shown nothing but dirt and damaged items.
01:13Instead of painted ceilings, we found moldy walls, and instead of tiled floors, we found feces of lizards, empty wine bottles, and used mattresses on a concrete floor.
01:24We hoped for antiques, but we found simple closets full of woodworm.
01:28We digged and cleaned for days, and had to let go of most of it.
01:32However, underneath all the dirt, a story was told by some treasures and old handwritten love letters.
