00:00♪ Blippi, so much to learn about. It will make you want to shout! Blippi! ♪

00:08Wow, look at what it is!

00:12This is a steam train.

00:14And today we are in Chehalis, Washington and we are going to learn about trains!

00:46Wow, look!

00:49Now I'll show you all the parts of the exterior of the train.

00:53Like these down here.

00:55Wow, look at the giant wheels.

00:59Wow, there are so many of them.

01:02Wow, there is another one.

01:05Wow, look at this one right here.

01:09And look up here.

01:11Wow, that big thing up there?

01:15Yeah, that's the fire box.

01:17That's what heats up all the water and it creates steam, which is fresher.

01:22And then up there, that's the stack, and then the bell, and then the whistle.

01:32And back here, right there, that's the cab.

01:37That's where the operators of the train sit.

01:43And come back here.

01:46This is the tender, and look over here.

01:50Those are the cars of the train.

02:15Wow, now we're inside the cab of the train.

02:18And I'm with the engineer and his name is Rick.

02:21Hey, Rick.

02:21Hi.

02:22Ok, and I'm over here with the fireman and his name is Robert.

02:26Hey.

02:26Hello.

02:27And they are going to explain some of the interior parts of the train.

02:32Hey, so what's this thing?

02:34This is called the Johnson bar.

02:35It makes the engine go forward, or if I go over here, it makes it go backward.

02:41Oh, can I try that?

02:42Go ahead.

02:42Alright.

02:43I dare you.

02:43Ok.

02:44Wow, that's hard.

02:48Ok, now I'll go back.

02:51Wow, going back is even harder.

02:56Cool.

02:57Alright, so we decide which direction we're going.

02:59We control our speed with the throttle, like a gas pedal in a car.

03:03If I pull that out, we'll go faster.

03:07Alright.

03:08Push it forward and then you go slower.

03:10And I can shut it clear off.

03:12Ok.

03:12The other thing I do is I've got a whistle up here to warn people that we're coming and crossing.

03:18Try that.

03:20Here we go.

03:23Wow, that's cool.

03:25And then the other thing I have to do is once in a while is stop the train.

03:28This stops the train here, like that.

03:33And this one is for the engine only, independent of the train.

03:39And what's this down here?

03:41That's a big fire in there.

03:43We're heating water to make steam.

03:45That gives us energy to go.

03:50Wait, so fire, and that's the fireman over here.

03:54So, what's this thing?

03:56This handle, I can make the fire get bigger or smaller.

03:59Oh, I like that.

04:01See, that's a little more range.

04:03That's a little less range.

04:04Wow, that's pretty cool.

04:06And so you sit here and do all the fire stuff.

04:08Is there anything else that you do?

04:10Yeah, I've got to ring the bell to make sure people get out of the way if we're moving.

04:13See, I pull this through.

04:15It rings.

04:17Cool, can I try?

04:18Yeah, go ahead.

04:19Okay, here we go.

04:23Wow, that's cool.

04:25Well, thank you, gentlemen.

04:27All aboard!

04:47All aboard!

04:51Now it's time for all the passengers to load on up

04:54so we can go for a ride.

04:58Okay, now it's my turn to ride the train.

05:01So come on, you can join with me.

05:03Wow, look over here.

05:07Wow, this is the inside car.

05:10It's all enclosed.

05:12That looks cool, but let's go over there

05:15so then we can ride the train on the outside.

05:18Come on.

05:19Oh, hello.

05:20Hi.

05:22Wow, see, now we're outside.

05:25This is going to be so much fun.

05:29The wheels were returning and the smoke was a puffing.

05:34Off we go.

05:37Wow, it's so green over here in the field.

05:41Look!

05:43Here come some trees.

05:51Let's go.

06:08Wow, do you see that?

06:10Wow, look at that beautiful pond right there.

06:15So much green.

06:18I don't know what type of plants those are,

06:20but they kind of look like lily pads.

06:37Oh, wow.

06:40Okay, we were outside, but now we're inside in an enclosed car.

06:46What a beautiful ride.

06:50Let's go.

07:02Choo-choo, here comes a train.

07:08It's rolling on the tracks, gonna get there fast, yeah.

07:15I could spend all day watching you go choo-choo.

07:22Oh, all across the country there are many train tracks

07:25and so many trains that roll on through.

07:29I can only imagine how much fun I'd be having

07:32if I was riding on the caboose.

07:35That's the back of the train.

07:36I try to count all the train cars,

07:39but there are so many flying by.

07:43One, two, three, four,

07:49and there's even more!

07:52Choo-choo, here comes a train.

07:55Choo-choo, here comes a train.

07:58It's rolling on the tracks, gonna get there fast, yeah.

08:05I could spend all day watching you go choo-choo.

08:12Some trains are made to transport people.

08:16I've been on one, how about you?

08:19Some move cargo miles and miles.

08:23Some move oil or fruit.

08:26Every time a train goes by,

08:29I wonder what could be inside.
