00:00These teams that are going into this new conference, you know, some of them, you know, I think

00:11have gotten certainly better at basketball, San Diego State being one of them.

00:16You know, you'll have Boise State, Oregon State, you said Washington State.

00:21And I don't disagree playing Pacific and Portland and San Francisco and Loyola Marymount and

00:28St. Mary's.

00:29I mean, St. Mary's was their main rival, right?

00:31At the end of the day, that was the team that gave him the most problems in the WCC or whatever

00:37it was, the West Coast Conference all these years.

00:40That was their problem was St. Mary's.

00:42But they always ended up beating St. Mary's and they always ended up winning that conference

00:47and they always ended up winning the conference tournament.

00:51For the most part, there are very few exceptions, as you said, right?

00:54Like they clean house.

00:56So I wouldn't disagree with you that it's almost a risky move to go try something completely

01:05different than what the formula you're talking about that they had mastered.

01:10Yeah, I think the counter to that is that they are they believe they will get more money.

01:15Now, that's not guaranteed because we don't know and no one knows what the Pac-12 television

01:21deal will be worth.

01:22They can make representations and say it.

01:25We expect it to be this.

01:26But until it's this, we don't know what that will be.

01:30And I do believe that there's there's a lot of programs that have changed conferences

01:36over the years, Scott, when they had other options, including fighting to make their

01:42their previous homes, their homes at the time, more relevant and more lucrative.

01:48And they wound up with bigger checks and less success and fun.

01:52I mean, how much fun is Boston College have how much have they had in general over the

01:57last 20 years?

01:59Where's the fun?

02:00They've almost never sniffed the NCAA tournament in men's basketball.

02:04They've played in no prominent ball games in the out of the ACC and they get a bigger

02:10check.

02:12I still wonder about that.

02:15I keep hearing from Texas A&M fans.

02:17They tell me every time that going to the SEC was the smart move for them.

02:23What they ended up doing is writing a seventy five million dollar check to get rid of a

02:26guy who was a pretty, pretty good college football coach, Jimbo Fisher.

02:32Whether he was the right coach for A&M and the SEC, that's for them to decide.

02:36But he was a pretty good coach.

02:37They paid him seventy five million dollars to not coach.
