00:00The tense. There are three kinds of tenses. In other words, an action activity can take

00:09place either in the present time or in the past or in the future. An action can be broadly

00:17placed under any of the three tenses. The present tense, the past tense or the future

00:25tense. The tense of a verb shows the time of an action or event. Kinds of tenses. Present

00:34tense, past tense, future tense. Present tense. A verb denotating an action taking place in

00:45the present time is said to be in the present tense. Example. He writes a book. In this

00:52sentence the action, writes, takes place in the present time. The bird is singing.

01:00In this sentence the action, is singing, indicate it is still going on. Past tense. A verb denoting

01:09an action that has taken place in the past is said to be in the past tense. Example.

01:17The horse jumped over the wall. In this sentence the action, jumped, took place in the past

01:24tense. She was singing a song. In this section the action, was singing, indicates that it

01:33was going on at some point in the past. Future tense. A verb denoting an action that may

01:41take place in the future is said to be in the future tense. Example. He will write a book.

01:50In this sentence the action, will write, is going to take place at some future time. I shall be

01:59singing a song. In this sentence the action, shall be singing, indicates that it will be

02:06continuing at some points in future time. There are four forms in the present tense,

02:13past tense and future tense. 1. Indefinite or simple tense. 2. Continuous tense. 3. Perfect

02:26tense. 4. Perfect continuous tense.
