00:00we all live on the same planet which is called the Earth. Now let's learn some

00:08facts about our planet Earth. Earth is the only planet that supports life as

00:17plants, animals, birds, trees, all human beings, all can live on this Earth. 71% of

00:31the Earth's surface is covered with water. The rest is covered with land. From

00:40space the Earth appears blue in color because of the water on its surface and

00:47so it's called the Blue Planet. Globe. Globe is a model of our planet Earth.

00:58Earth is round in shape and we live on the land. We grow different types of food

01:07on the land like fruits, vegetables, pulses, and grains.

01:17The land is made up of rocks and soil. Now let's see different landforms.

01:27Landforms are the natural features that we see around us. Different landforms are

01:35plains, hills, mountains, water bodies, deserts, and valleys. Now let's learn

01:46different types of landforms one by one. Plains. A plain is a large flat area of

01:56land. Houses, buildings, and roads can be easily built on plains. Hills. The land

02:10that is higher than the plains forms hills. Many people live on hills too.

02:17Mountains. The land that is higher than the hill is called a mountain peak.

02:24Mountains are mostly covered with snow. Mount Everest. Mount Everest is the

02:33highest peak in the world.

02:38Now let's see what is a valley. The low flat area between two mountains is

02:45called a valley. Island. A piece of land surrounded by water on all of its sides

02:57is called an island. Forests. A large area of land covered with trees and wild

03:07plants is called a forest. One-third of the land on earth is covered with forests.

03:16Forests help us breathe as trees release oxygen which we need to breathe. A lot of

03:25people live in forests too. Forests provide us with medicines as all

03:31medicines are made from various plants and trees from the forest. Forests are

03:39gifts of nature. Forests are homes of many wild animals. They provide shelter

03:47to wild birds and animals. We should save forests by not cutting the trees. Now

03:57let's see what is a desert. A large area of land covered with sand and dust is

04:06called a desert. Very few plants such as cactus grow in a desert. Sahara. The Sahara

04:17desert is the most famous desert of Africa. Now let's learn about water bodies.

04:24These are places on earth where a lot of water gets collected. Such places are

04:31called water bodies. Streams, lakes, ponds, rivers, seas, oceans, different types of

04:41water bodies are there on earth. Man-made features. These are many structures on

04:50earth that are made by man. Such features are called man-made features

04:57like buildings, roads, railway tracks, dams, tunnels, schools, and lakes. These

05:12are man-made features. Kids, we should help in keeping our planet clean and

05:20green. We should turn off the lights when not in use. We should give away our waste

05:27for recycling or reuse. We should take care of animals. We should plant more and

05:35more plants and trees. We should not waste food. We should not waste paper. We

05:44should use both sides of the paper. We should not waste water either. If we

05:52follow these things, we can keep our planet clean and beautiful.
