SHE Choir Hastings take to their stage

SHE Choir Hastings are promising Thunder, Lightning, and Dirt when they take to the stage in The White Rock Studio, White Rock Theatre, Hastings on Thursday, October 10 at 7.30pm for their first concert of their very own.

00:06speak again to Hannah Collison and you are taking part in SheChoir Hastings who are offering their

00:13first gig of their very own coming up in Hastings on October the 10th. What's SheChoir Hastings all

00:19about? So SheChoir Hastings is an unauditioned collaboratively run community choir for women,

00:27non-binary and genderqueer folk. We practice every week in Hastings and this is the first

00:36gig that we've organised ourselves and you can expect original arrangements of pop, folk, indie,

00:42rock, dance music from the last 30 years. So these songs have been arranged by choir members

00:51and it's an evening of performance which includes the full choir performing together and also it's

01:00a showcase of the wide-ranging talents of individual choir members as well, so there'll be

01:05some other performances interspersed. It sounds great and you've got a fantastic title for the

01:10gig haven't you? Thunder, Lightning and Dirt. What's the dirt? So Thunder, Lightning and Dirt

01:19is a lyric that comes from one of the songs that's in our repertoire, so it's a song called

01:24Resilient by Rising Appalachia. So that kind of, that line kind of stood out to us as a great,

01:34a great title for a gig. It's a fantastic song. And it sort of reflects the energy, yeah, yeah, yeah.

01:41And the first of your own concerts, presumably there are going to be more?

01:50Yes, there will definitely be more. We've got plenty more to share,

01:54but don't miss out on this one. Tickets are going fast. So it's at the White Rock Theatre

01:59in Hastings and tickets, a £10 standard ticket and then there's a £4 ticket for

02:08under 18s and unwaged people. We've also got a pay it forward ticket option of £15 if anyone's

02:14able to do that. And I'll just mention that anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
