into it.
00:06
All right, fantasy football season continues, and the injuries continue to be problems,
00:12
and unproductive players continue to be problems, and so the Waiver Wire continues to be our
00:18
oasis for a helping hand.
00:22
We haven't really had that, oh, this guy is a league winner type of a Waiver Wire pickup
00:28
just yet.
00:30
We haven't really had any of that so far.
00:33
We had a couple guys who have helped, and one guy who we mentioned on last week's that
00:36
really helped in a big time way, even if you didn't necessarily throw them into your lineup,
00:42
which absolutely, I had them on my bench.
00:44
Toxic, of course, one of the teams in the fantasy vampire league that we did for some
00:51
friends of the Twitch as the season got going.
00:55
For me personally, I had Jawan Jennings on my bench last week in the vampire league.
01:02
I had him, and it was one other person.
01:05
Oh, I had Charbonnet on the bench as well.
01:07
Those two guys alone outscored my starting lineup.
01:10
Not a good week in the vampire league for me.
01:12
I'm going to try to break out of this slump this week, but this has been much more of
01:16
a challenge than I expected it to be this year, but these Waiver Wire pickups could
01:20
help as we continue in that process.
01:23
So, we'll start at the quarterback position.
01:25
If you're looking for a streaming option this week, Sam Darnold is, gosh golly gee, a pretty
01:30
good one for you to have.
01:33
He is 30% owned right now.
01:36
Facing Green Bay is tough, but he has been quite good so far this year, and I do, this
01:42
is not necessarily as much a trust in Sam Darnold as this is a trust in this offense.
01:49
They have got Aaron Jones rolling.
01:50
Ty Chandler has shown that he can actually be a pretty strong option for this group as
01:56
well if you wanted to go with a 2RB set.
01:59
And then of course, Justin Jefferson is quite good at the sport of football.
02:02
Darnold has been able to efficiently move this offense up and down the field, put them
02:06
in positions to put up some points, and I think can be a bit more of a longer term option
02:11
as well, maybe even just beyond a one week start.
02:13
So he is someone who I'm absolutely looking at at 30% owned.
02:17
Right at our cutoff for 35% owned is Bucky Irving.
02:21
Nine carries, three more targets for the second time in three games so far this year, and
02:26
again, quite frankly, he has looked like the better running back so far out in Tampa Bay.
02:30
And so I anticipate those looks are going to continue, those opportunities, that's what
02:36
I was looking for, those opportunities are going to be there for him as well, and there
02:40
is going to be a real growth chance for him to come out and really set the tone for being
02:47
a guy in that backfield, and getting some real opportunities for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
02:53
At wide receiver, there's three we're looking at right now.
02:56
32% owned, it's still Juwan Jennings.
02:59
We've probably, I'm not even going to say probably, we've absolutely seen Juwan Jennings
03:03
last game as a 40 point scorer in fantasy football, but we do have a few opportunities,
03:10
I think, for him to come up with some good fantasy points.
03:12
Hey, Conrad, how's it going, bud, thanks for popping by, really appreciate it.
03:16
I think Juwan Jennings is going to have some opportunities.
03:19
Brandon Ayoub looks like doo-doo, Deebo Samuel I don't think is expected to be back this
03:24
week, and George Kittle, limited practice this week.
03:28
They're playing New England.
03:29
Now, they have just come off of a couple of real stinkers, so maybe they may feel a little
03:37
bit, um, they may feel a little bit more pressure to throw them in, but still, I do think that
03:45
there is a opportunity that Jennings is going to work a little bit more into this, uh, into
03:50
this offense.
03:51
Sorry Conrad about the ad, um, apologies for that.
03:55
But um, yeah, I think he is an option.
03:57
I do think Alan Lizard, at 30% owned, I have had him and I have guessed wrong every time
04:01
on when to actually put him into the lineup, but I do think this is a week that you can
04:07
go for it.
04:09
They are playing the Denver Broncos this week.
04:12
Last week, Denver played Tampa Bay, and they just took Mike Evans right out of the game
04:16
plan.
04:17
Patrick Sertan III did a very good job of shutting him down, and that is kind of similar
04:24
to what the Jets experienced on Thursday, where Gonzalez was over, kind of just shadowing
04:30
Wilson, and looking to take him out of the game plan, and thusly, Alan Lizard was able
04:37
to pick up a few more opportunities.
04:38
I think something similar can happen this week.
04:40
Not that Wilson is a sit or anything like that, but I do think there's going to be some
04:43
volume chances for Lizard, and it's very obvious that Aaron Rodgers has trusted him in the
04:49
red zone for the first couple of weeks of the season, so I think there's an opportunity
04:53
for him.
04:54
And the last one is Darnell Mooney.
04:55
It is very clear, again, that teams are really targeting London and Pitts and taking them
04:59
away, and Kirk Cousins is very good at taking the path of least resistance, and for a lot
05:04
of times, that has been Mooney.
05:06
So again, I think there's going to be more volume than you think for Mooney, and I think
05:11
he is also just a pretty good football player, and so I think that will help him kind of
05:15
grow and develop into this role as well, and let him kind of be a bigger part of the offense.
05:22
So I think that is also a play for you in different fantasy leagues.
05:27
I think the ad is done whamming you now, Conrad, so again, and ad-free, hello, and thank you
05:34
for stopping in, I appreciate it.
05:36
I know we're both in Josh's fantasy league, and we haven't played each other yet.
05:40
I have, not that anyone needs to hear about someone bitching about their own fantasy team,
05:44
I have lost all three games in that league, and the biggest spread has been five points.
05:49
I have been just right there every time, and I'm getting very annoyed by it.
05:53
Now part of that's my fault, because I've been projected to win every week, and it hasn't
05:57
worked out, so it is on me, but that's been very frustrating.
06:01
So that's my only little fantasy football bitch of the day.
06:04
At the tight end spot, 29% owned, Colby Parkinson, 12 targets in the first three games.
06:10
There's not a lot of great options in that offense right now, and that is, I think, going
06:17
to help out Parkinson greatly.
06:18
Matthew Stafford still looks like he is fantastic, and I think there's going to be more and
06:23
more opportunities for Parkinson to, again, grow into this offense a little bit more.
06:29
So I think there's a chance that he puts up some numbers, and it's tight end in fantasy.
06:33
We're not looking for something great.
06:34
The number one ad on tight end right now is Cole Komet, and the reason for that, probably,
06:38
is he scored a touchdown last week right after everyone dropped him.
06:41
So this is a position that's very frustrating to deal with, and one that I think you have,
06:48
we're throwing darts here every week, guys, is what we're doing.
06:52
Hopefully some of these darts help out Conrad, Conrad, sorry, at 0-3.
06:56
I think that's, I'm living that in a couple of leagues this year.
07:01
It's been a frustrating start, but don't give up.
07:03
We're going to battle through this.
07:04
We're going to grind through it together.
07:06
And I've got a thing coming up here in a couple of minutes that's going to show you how annoying
07:09
this whole thing can be.
07:12
Our defense for the week is Cincinnati.
07:15
They are 28% owned.
07:17
They're facing Carolina.
07:18
Yes, Carolina just won their last game.
07:21
Yes, it was against my favorite team.
07:23
No, I don't think they can do that again.
07:26
That's basically what I'm banking all of this on, is my assumption that what Carolina
07:32
did last week is not sustainable and not something they're going to be able to do on a week-in-week-out
07:38
basis.
07:39
Now, I will say, the whole revenge thing for Andy Dalton does provide a bit of intrigue
07:46
and a little bit of concern for this.
07:48
Also, them losing to Washington on Monday night gives you a bit of pause as well, but
07:53
I do think that this is going to be a defense that can at least take advantage of Andy Dalton.
07:59
And I think that Lou Anarumo, sorry, holy hell, all tongue-tied today.
08:05
I do think defensive coordinator Lou is going to be able to lock this thing down and kind
08:11
of take advantage of a subpar offense moving forward.
