00:00PricewaterhouseCoopers has resigned as Pharmaceutical Group Pharma Nyaga Berhad's external auditor

00:07after 19 years.

00:09This is the third instance in recent weeks that a member of the Big Four global accounting

00:12firms has quit as auditor of a Bursa Malaysia-listed company.

00:18Earlier this month, KPMG resigned as the external auditor for both semiconductor assembly and

00:22test firm Globetronics Technology, as well as Kedah State-owned construction and property

00:27development group Bina Darulaman Berhad.

00:30In a board's filing yesterday, Pharma Nyaga said it had received a notice dated September

00:3520 from PwC of its voluntary resignation.

00:39It said the board agreed that the resignation and hiring of new auditors would bring a fresh

00:43perspective to both the board and the company.

00:47Pharma Nyaga also said the board had approved the appointment of Ernst & Young as its auditor

00:52for the financial year ending December 31, 2024.
