Kashmir election: Young leaders promise better future

A new generation of politicians is contesting regional elections in Jammu and Kashmir. Their campaigns focus on key issues such as unemployment and restoration of the region's semi-autonomous status.

00:00People in Kashmir want that there should be fresh faces with fresh ideas.

00:15Post Article 370's abrogation in 2019 has gone through a lot.

00:35Now they feel that there is a vacuum in leadership.

00:39What is required is that somebody should speak truth to the power.

00:58We need to show resentment to the government of India and for that we urge people to vote

01:04in large numbers in favour of National Conference of Congress Alliance so that people in Delhi,

01:08particularly government and BJP party, they should get the idea that people of J&K should

01:13or not with the decisions taken on August 5, 2019.

01:38Kashmir has been marred, it has been butchered in every aspect.

02:04There were domicile laws that are now relaxed, our resources have been taken over, our jobs

02:14are open to the rest of the country.

02:19In a sense that what they did after Article 370's abrogation was and in fact what they

02:26did when they abrogated Article 370 was that they fundamentally disregarded the asymmetric

02:34federalism of our country.
