00:12the interiors of stars. Researchers from the City University of New York are proposing

00:17that monopole particles threaded on cosmic strings could form the basis of stellar life,

00:22similar to the way DNA and RNA form the basis of life on Earth. A network of cosmic necklaces

00:27forming complex three-dimensional structures, like atoms joined in chemical bonds, might

00:31be able to feed off of a star's energy and self-replicate. It sounds wild, but according

00:35to the researchers, it is possible that such a life form could develop intelligence. Scientists

00:40have observed some mysteriously cooling stars out there, which might be the place to look.

00:44The research was published in Letters in High Energy Physics.
