00:00What have you thought of Jacoby Brissette thus far?

00:03He has been a quarterback who's excelled at avoiding taking sacks.

00:08He hasn't made a lot of plays down the field to the wide receivers.

00:11The offense has struggled to do anything beyond run the football.

00:15How do you feel about Jacoby Brissette through two weeks?

00:19I think there's plenty of fans out there who are going to roll their eyes when I say that.

00:22I think he's been excellent, but he's been excellent.

00:24Excellent. I mean, it's excellent.

00:27Given the situation, given what we saw last year, given what would be the result,

00:33look, you have to go with what the situation is around him.

00:37Would Aaron Rodgers be better in this situation?

00:40I mean, I don't know. He doesn't have any wide receivers.

00:43He doesn't have any protection.

00:45I'm not saying that Jacoby Brissette is Aaron Rodgers,

00:48but there is a point at which chicken salad cannot be made out of chicken poop.

00:55We saw it with Tom Brady a myriad of times over 20 years where he has no wide outs, no protection.

01:06if you want to look back at how bad it looked.

01:08There was a game against the Jets in the rain when Aaron Dobson

01:11and Taylor Price might have been his wide receivers.

01:14He threw the ball to Julian Edelman like 19 times and completed 13 for an average of 6.6 yards.

01:20That is a wide receiver.

01:21That's, yes. And that was, that's kind of analogous to what the Patriots are looking at right now.

01:29So that Jacoby Brissette has kept the team in the games

01:32and has not done some kind of mind-bending, ridiculous gaffe through two games.

01:39And I would not call his taking a 7-yard sack or whatever it was.

01:439 yards.

01:45That was a big play. That was a big play, Tom.

01:47That was a big, a 39-yard field goal to a 48-yard field goal.

01:51That's a big, that's a big, you know, and especially because that's the kind of guy that shouldn't take a sack.

01:55Rich, you could say it's a big play, but it's not going from the 25 to the 43 and setting up a 60-yard field goal.

02:03We've seen that kind of trash play.

02:05So when we look at, yes, is it a good play? No, it sucks.

02:08It's not what you're looking for, but it's not what we've seen in terms of meltdowns.

02:14So, and given the situation he's facing, yeah, he's not perfect, but given the situation.
