00:16:37Pete Dunne I ever said the b-word is so vengeful right now. You almost said butch I did it's the way the crowd is right now

00:16:45That moniker that he takes though to such an extreme weight. It's like this torture tag rarer than a name

00:16:52It just feels like it makes him a joke according to him as Seamus is all over him right away

00:49:06Portland just continues to yeet deep into the night. This place is on fire

00:49:10after what they just saw. I was talking to Braun Breaker recently, he said I've

00:49:14never taken a spear, I only give spears. He just took one for the first time, so.

00:49:18And he found out what happens when Jay Uso moves from party mode to game mode like

00:49:28advance to what happened recently with Damage Control and take you back a

00:52:41tremendous tag teams through the years. A very short list of the greats in terms of

00:52:45among the most decorated. Well, the New Day's right there. Yet, they have not held the World

00:52:50or the WWE Tag Team titles in over three years. Perennial Tag Team Champs for about seven years,

00:52:58and then a metaphorical desert ever since for the past three. Now is the time for New Day to fix

00:53:07that blot on their resumes. Meanwhile, it's nice to see Judgment Day,

00:53:15JD and Finn actually properly defending the championship, rather than just causing chaos.

00:53:22They took the tag titles way back on June 24th, and yet this is their first defense.

00:53:28Well, that is called a smart, savvy veteran move, probably led by the vet himself, Finn Balor. When

00:53:35you're the champ, the last thing you want to do is put that championship on the line. I've told

00:53:40Cody Rhodes so many times, stop challenging everyone in your line of sight. You don't have to.

00:53:47Just maintain being the champ. How does that possibly serve the fan, though? It's incongruent

00:53:52to what it should be. Fight. Stay active. Hey, we've seen far more antics like this out of them.

00:53:58Yeah, well, this is last week. Rey Mysterio, Bill Balor went one-on-one here on Raw. Rey got caught

00:54:04up after the 619 attempt. Balor applying a torturous hold in the ropes on that leg. Referee

00:54:10having no chance to throw the match out. Balor refusing to release the hold, seemingly reveling

00:54:17in the Hall of Famer's agony, and then post-match adding even more damage in the aftermath, and

00:54:25we're still awaiting an update on the condition of Mysterio, but it just goes to show how cutthroat

00:54:32Balor and the rest of Judgment Day have been of late. World Tag Team Championship match,

00:54:39the New Day challenging the champs, the Judgment Day. For the official introductions,

00:54:43here's the sensational Samantha Ervin. The following contest is scheduled for one fall,

00:54:50and it is for the World Tag Team Championship.

00:56:07That is what's on the line, the World Tag Team Championship. Finn Balor, JD McDonough,

00:56:13the first ever Irish-born duo to hold tag gold in WWE, and their first defense. 71 days on social

00:56:24media platforms today, Kofi Kingston reacted to the Judgment Day, going 71 days without a title

00:56:30defense. He says, is this a real stat? Tonight, Woods and I are going to liberate the titles from

00:56:34these heathens. They are out to do it, and grab gold again as Kofi gets off to a good start with

00:56:40that flying forearm. Strong talk from the New Day, but the Judgment Day, aside from this beating that

00:56:47McDonough's getting right now, must be feeling pretty confident out here. We heard earlier

00:56:52tonight, New Day requested that the Terror Twins, Woods right into the cover, do not get involved in

00:56:59this matchup. New Day don't want anything messing up their first opportunity to grab tag gold in

00:57:06over three years. Now, Xavier Woods was very specific in saying, and here you see how cohesive

00:57:13of a unit they are, as Kofi comes flying down and into the cover of JD McDonough, but the kickout

00:57:20of JD, who has not got anything going. The New Day looking back to their old past, the thing that took

00:57:28them to 11 tag championships in the past. There have been some tensions between the duo in recent

00:57:35weeks, caused by Karrion Kross, but they're looking good now. Can they recapture tag gold here on Raw?

00:57:42Portland, Oregon, home to Monday Night Raw, the World Tag Team Championship match, and Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, they last held main roster gold in April of 2021, as a golden opportunity, as Kofi Kingston is trying to rally here, and against Finn Balor, would mean so much to Xavier Woods, as you see him searching for the tag wave,

00:58:12to be able to grab these titles. Yeah, this has to be a must-win matchup for the New Day, otherwise,

00:58:17they're going to look themselves in the mirror, and conclude that perhaps they are indeed yesterday's

00:58:23news, but now the Fresh Woods is in that. Here comes Woods, getting after both JD and Finn.

00:58:30Nice comeback from Xavier Woods. New Day have looked simply superb from the off in this one.

00:58:38Baseball slide, spins, and delivers. Nobody more highly motivated than Xavier Woods, to recapture the gold. Flying in with that forearm.

00:58:58This is a momentum game, and when you build up a head of steam, you've got to make it count,

00:59:04but you've got to admire the toughness of JD McDonough at the same time.

00:59:11Woods delivers.

00:59:18Springboard, flying in is Kofi. Like New Day of old are back. Wind in their sails, all the chemistry

00:59:27and momentum in the world. Kingston putting his body on the line, and it pays off. They could be closing

00:59:33in on something, but all of a sudden, here goes JD. Woods looking to counter, and the cover for the gold.

00:59:44Kick out at two. Late, late kick out there from the Irish Yates. Take another look at Kofi Kingston,

00:59:51turning back the clock, followed by this from Xavier Woods. Tight pen, but it wasn't quick enough, and things

00:59:59fall. As soon as they have momentum, look who arrives with Dirty Dom and Carlito.

01:00:09Judgment Day knowing full well that Tera Twins help is on the way. LWO. The Judgment Day have a lot of

01:00:16enemies in the locker room, including after last week's beatdown. The LWO.

01:00:23Chaos everywhere, you're like who could be a cool head in a crisis and get this much won.

01:00:34Kofi looking to fly, takes them all out. But look at the ring, what's Toppo? Big elbow off the rope.

01:00:43Where is the breath? He's dealing with the menacing forces outside of the floor.

01:00:49Kingston's belt should be theirs. Xavier Woods cannot believe it. Xavier Woods had the match won.

01:00:58The referee was dealing with Kingston's ball on the outside. Woods is incredulous to what is

01:01:12He had this thing won three and a half years without gold, and it was theirs right there.

01:01:20There was a blind tag there hoping Xavier Woods saw it, but they leave him in. He had the cover

01:01:25there as well. And a coup de grace when he was locked up, and now the cover, the hook of the leg,

01:01:34and the first title defense is secured. Here are your winners, and still the World Tag Team

01:01:45champions, JT McDonough and Finn Balor.

01:01:54Well that was an absolute case of grabbing defeat from the jaws of victory.

01:02:00For the new day, they had this match up won. Referee distracted in the chaos.

01:02:10You never see frustration like this between these two.

01:02:15They are typically the pillars of positivity together, Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston.

01:02:29But now you see a clear fracture of frustration. And Xavier Woods, by the way,

01:02:36you can understand his frustration. He said we want to go it alone.
