Russian gardener grows record-breaking pumpkin as heavy as a bull
Russian amateur gardener, Alexander Chusov, broke national records by growing an 817 kg (1801 pounds) pumpkin, about the average weight of a bull, at a competition held on September 13 in Russia's oldest botanical garden, the Apothecary's Garden.
According to the organizers, Chusov's achievement surpassed the previous record of 771 kg (1700 pounds), making his pumpkin the heaviest ever grown in the country.
The competition was part of the annual Autumn Festival at the garden, which was founded by Tzar Peter The Great.
