00:00Yeah, Daniel Wharton with the Express and Star, we're down here at the Pfizer Experience.

00:05As you can see they've built a, this is on Wolverhampton's Market Square, where they've

00:09built a BMX and scooter friendly sort of like double halfpipe with a spine in the middle.

00:14So I think they've just had the men's, I think they've just had the men's amateur competition

00:19which was really good.

00:20There's a few people down here at the moment, obviously it's a work time but it's expected

00:22to get quite busier on Saturday and Sunday.

00:24It's a completely free event, definitely worth coming down and seeing, it's something that

00:28you don't usually see outside of the X Games.

00:31We've been talking to a few of the visitors that have come down today and they've said

00:34that they absolutely love it.

00:35They like the idea of a free open event where people can come down, especially the youths,

00:40they don't usually get to go on, they don't usually get to go on intricate courses like

00:44this without paying for it.

00:46So it's a good event to come down and just have a look.

00:48So today we've got the BMX in, tomorrow we've got BMX in and scooter in and I believe we've

00:53also got some freestyle breakdancing which is obviously in the Olympics lately, well

00:57recently, which is currently over there in a big tent.

01:01So yeah it's a completely free event, take your bikes for the rest of today, Saturday

01:04and Sunday, definitely worth coming down and taking a visit.

01:06So this is Ethan, Ethan, how good's the event, good to see you innit?

01:09I think it's really good mate.

01:10Yeah it's fantastic man, you had to go on the ramps didn't you?

01:13Yeah, not too bad.

01:14So you've been on it, pretty good man.

01:15You've been BMXing long?

01:16Just under two months.

01:18You're not going on a big ramp are you?

01:21Well yeah, it's good to see this type of event in more ramps, you don't really see these

01:24types of extreme sports events.

01:25It's nice people to get together.

01:26Yeah, yeah, yeah.

01:27And it's a good scene obviously, like all the young ones jumping on it as well.

01:30Yeah, yeah, yeah.

01:31It's great.

01:32It's good to get the youth around.

01:33Yeah, yeah, absolutely.

01:34Better than being out on the streets and possibly getting his baby and stuff like that.

01:37Should do more stuff like this.

01:41Also a bit of money on there, a bit of possible money as well if you want I suppose.

01:52It's been great so far.

01:53Just popped in to see what it's all about and he's loving it.

02:04I mean like it's fantastic seeing this type of event in the city.

02:08Better seeing the kids doing it, you know, scootering here, getting their games in.

02:12I mean we showed it to him, like we saw it on Facebook, the link, he's seen the link

02:15and wanted to come and he's loved it.

02:18It's been brilliant so far.

02:56You see it on TV, but it's nice to actually see it in person.

02:59So you said Jayden likes cycling?

03:00He likes transports like trains, these and bikes.

03:01So he's loving seeing the bikes going in the air.

03:02So it's great.

03:05You don't usually get to see him go without a high-D or so.

03:07So he's really enjoying it.

03:08Do you think it's something that obviously Wolverhampton needs a bit more in the future?

03:09Definitely.

03:10Because they've got the places for it.

03:11You know, after this year, I think it'll take off.

03:12Absolutely.

03:13I think, you know, when people more, a lot of my friends know about it and they're all

03:14going to come tomorrow on the weekend.

03:15Oh, fantastic.

03:16Yeah, that's brilliant.

03:17So the publicity has been good because everyone knows about it.

03:18So hopefully it takes off and people are here every year.

03:19It's a bit of a shame that it's a little bit dead now, but obviously it's a work time for
