Hi colleagues, welcome to the Diggu Science channel.
00:05
As the first in a series of fluid physics courses, we will learn about density.
00:11
We have three solid cubes.
00:15
A cube is a geometric figure that has the same length, width and height.
00:20
The side lengths of these three cubes are the same.
00:24
The volume of each cube is the same.
00:27
Thus, these three cubes are cubes that have the same shape.
00:33
Are these three cubes really the same?
00:39
Note, when each cube is weighed on a mass balance,
00:43
the value displayed on the screen turns out to show a different number.
00:50
This means that each cube has a different mass.
00:52
Some have a larger mass. Some have a smaller mass.
00:59
So, actually, each cube is not the same.
01:03
There is something inside the cube that makes it different.
01:07
Something that makes up the cube is different.
01:13
Let's look at the cube on a smaller scale.
01:16
It turns out that it is true. The atoms that make up the cube are different.
01:22
The types of atoms are different.
01:25
Or, the same atom but with a different arrangement.
01:30
We need to differentiate each of these cubes.
01:34
Because the object has a different mass even though the shape is the same.
01:39
Density is defined as the ratio of mass to volume.
01:45
Density is often symbolized as rho.
01:48
Rho is equal to m per way.
01:53
So, density is a quantity.
01:56
Density is a quantity of mass.
02:00
Density is a quantity of volume.
02:03
Density is a quantity of mass.
02:06
So, density is a quantity that is formulated based on definition.
02:11
We don't need complicated mathematical analysis to get this equation.
02:21
Objects that have a greater density are generally composed of more atoms.
02:28
This causes the vacuum inside the object to be narrower.
02:32
That is why density is often referred to as density.
02:38
We will study this in more detail in the next series.
