Nikki Bella is tapping out when it comes to her marriage ... because she just filed to divorce Artem Chigvintsev ... only weeks after he was arrested for domestic violence.

00:27is asking for sole physical and legal custody of their kids.

00:39She cited the date of separation the same day

00:43as the alleged physical altercation, which

00:46tells you, obviously, that was the precipitating event

00:58of her reaction to the entire event, this tragic event,

01:13And he's FaceTiming, we're told, with their son.

01:19And we don't know if he's had any face-to-face contact,

01:23but this is going to be what looks like a difficult divorce.

01:29And I don't know that there are going to be a lot of images

01:32of happy co-parenting.

01:34I mean, they can still co-parent,

01:35but that doesn't mean they're going to be there together.
