00:00Dismissed Bamban Mayor Alice Guo insists on the validity of her candidacy in the 2022

00:08In her counter-affidavit, Guo asked the poll body to dismiss its case against her, which
00:12alleges misrepresentation in her certificate of candidacy.
00:15Guo is being sued for violating Section 74 of the Omnibus Election Code, which states
00:19that a candidate must use the baptismal name or name registered with the local civil registrar.
00:24Guo argues the information in her COC are based on legitimate documents issued by the
00:29Philippine government.
00:30The Comelec says Guo's declarations in her COC were inconsistent with a document from
00:35the National Bureau of Investigation, which showed her fingerprints were listed under
00:39the name Hua Hua Ping.
00:40Guo says she wasn't given the opportunity to authenticate the NBI results.
00:45The commission also questions Guo's Filipino citizenship, but she insists she holds a valid
00:49birth certificate and Comelec voter certificate.
