00:00No dream is more coveted and just as elusive as to the typical Filipino farmer

00:05than the ownership of the land he or she tills.

00:08Today, the government eased the burden of reaching such dreams through its debt forgiveness

00:14or condemnation program that our Kenneth Paciente dwells on in this report.

00:21Evelyn has been farming the more than three hectares of land she received from the government

00:26for more than 30 years. But due to limited income, their debt grew and grew,

00:30turning into huge burden for them.

00:44That burden on farmers like Evelyn has now been eased by the government.

00:48Evelyn is one of those who received a Certificate of Condemnation with Release of Mortgage

00:53or COCCROM distributed by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. himself.

00:57The President and DAR distributed 1,119 Condemnation Certificates

01:02to around 1,000 Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries from different areas in Bulacan.

01:07The farmers' debt that was condoned or erased totaled P274,970,474 pesos.

01:14The President emphasized that farmers can now focus on improving their farms.

01:23The money that you have saved to pay for the land,

01:27you can now use it for other things that will help you in the future.

01:34You can count on this.

01:41You can count on the whole government to help you and meet the needs of the people.

01:50Evelyn was happy about this as she felt like a huge burden was lifted off her shoulders.

01:55She said she can now use her income for other things instead of paying off debt.

02:11Aside from the condemnation, the President also distributed 343 Certificates of Land Titles

02:16to 287 ARBs covering a total of 232.76 hectares of land.

02:22He urged the beneficiaries to take good care of the land they received.

02:25Even though cocrom and cloa are considered blessings,

02:29let us not forget that it is our responsibility

02:36to take care of our crops and livelihoods.

02:41As of this month, the government has distributed 136,116 land titles

02:47to 138,718 ARBs.

02:51The target is to distribute over 100,000 more titles to beneficiaries in the remaining months of 2024.

02:57That is why, under this administration,

03:01Secretary Conrad is the pillar of DAL.

03:04We are working hard to complete the agrarian reform in 2028

03:12so that all beneficiaries can benefit from the land they receive.
