There are over 20 people running for the Kempsey Shire Council in this election but can the average person on the street name anyone on the ballot paper?

00:08Kempsey Shire elections?

00:12No, no idea. I know a couple of people who are candidates, but yeah.

00:18I know a couple of them. Yep, so what's it, Andrew Ferguson and I can't think of the

00:27other ones. Name the girl. Yeah, I can't even think of her bloody name either.

00:33All I know is Dean Saul. That's all I know.

00:36And do you know, can you name anyone who's running this year in the Kempsey Shire election?

00:41Yeah, so I know Aunty Vicky. Taylor is one. She's definitely got my vote. Aunty Vicky.

00:47I know Dean Saul is another one. That's it, unfortunately.

00:52No, not a great deal, yeah. Yeah, I haven't been here. I've been in hospital for the past month, so.

00:57I think Scott Butterfield as well, but that's about it. I don't know anyone else.

01:04With over 20 people running for the Kempsey Shire Council elections,

01:08it's easy to understand why people don't know who exactly is running for what.

01:13For the Mayor position, we have, in the order they're going to appear on the ballot,

01:17Arthur Bain, Charanjit Singh Bedi, Dean Saul, Troy Irwin, Simon Ferguson and Kinny Ring.

01:27When it comes to the role of being a councillor, we have a number of people running.

01:32In the grouped candidates, we have Group A, led by Alexandra Wyatt,

01:37Group B, led by Kinny Ring, Group C, led by Dean Saul,

01:42Group D, which is the Greens, run by Arthur Bain,

01:46and Group E, run by Noel Selby.

01:50Also on the ballot will be ungrouped candidates, appearing on the ballot in this order.

01:56Troy Irwin, Stephen McNamara, Trevor Martin, Ben Pax.
