00:00Commuter scooters are growing in demand and growing in popularity and with that,
00:04manufacturers are coming out with a whole lot of new features, even on regular scooters.
00:09And now with us, we have the all-new Hero Destiny 125.
00:14Welcome back to DriveSpark, I'm Vedant Johari and in this video,
00:18I'm going to take you guys through what comes new in the Hero Destiny.
00:30On the new Hero Destiny 125, Hero claims that they are focused on five new things
00:36to come up with this scooter and they are the comfort, convenience, style, mileage and safety.
00:44So I'll quickly take you through all these five pillars.
00:47First off, style.
00:49As you can see, it comes completely redesigned from the previous Destiny.
00:53The front mudguard that we get and the side panels which we have are all in metal.
01:00This enhances the audibility and this just adds to the premiumness of the scooter.
01:05On top of that, we get a whole lot of these copper chrome elements on the scooter,
01:09such as we get it on the Hero badging in the front,
01:12we get it nicely panning around the whole front end of the scooter
01:16and we get a few accents on the side as well.
01:20Apart from that, the Destiny 125 written on the side is in the copper chrome
01:23and we get the copper chrome located at the rear as well.
01:26Now this on the black scooter creates a really, really nice contrast.
01:31So depending on what you like, depending on your preference,
01:34the Destiny 125 is available in seven colour options.
01:38So apart from that, looking at the styling of the scooter,
01:41on the black scooter that we have, we get this really nice piano black finish throughout
01:46the scooter and the copper chrome elements, as I said,
01:49just bring out the whole premiumness and just enhance the whole scooter's aesthetic.
01:54Apart from that, coming to the rear of the scooter,
01:57we get the Hero badging at the rear as well in copper chrome
02:00and we get an H pattern signature rear light, just like how Hero has.
02:07Apart from that, at the front, we get daytime running lamps
02:10and we get a split style headlamp with the bottom as a projector
02:14and the top as a regular low beam lights.
02:18On top of that, we get 12-inch wheels at the front and the rear
02:21and at the front, we get a disc brake, which is a 190 mm.
02:25Now coming to safety, I've already spoken about the disc brake,
02:29now let's talk a little more about the braking performance on this.
02:32The Destiny 125 comes with a combined braking system,
02:35which basically means when you hit your rear brakes,
02:37your rear and your front brakes will engage,
02:39which adds to the whole safety aspect of this.
02:42On top of that, when you're braking hard on the scooter,
02:44your indicators are going to flash, again, enhancing safety.
02:47This allows the other road goers about your presence.
02:50Apart from that, we get a feature,
02:52which cuts off our indicators automatically called auto wink.
02:56So basically, how that works is when you're riding
02:59and let's say you switch on the left indicator, take a left turn,
03:02either after 15 winks or 80 meters, your indicator will cut off by itself.
03:08Another really, really, really important safety feature
03:11that the Destiny 125 comes with is a fall safe alert.
03:15So when your scooter falls over and if the engine is still on,
03:21if you pick it up from the throttle side and by mistake give some throttle,
03:25the throttle will get cut, ensuring that the scooter doesn't run away from you
03:29or you lose control of it.
03:31So those are all the safety features we get on the Destiny 125.
03:34We've spoken about the style and safety, now let's talk about convenience.
03:40So for convenience, the Destiny 125 has really been enhanced from the previous versions.
03:45So let me sit on the scooter and show you.
03:47Now, I am 6 foot 1 and sitting on the scooter, as you can see,
03:52I have a whole lot of space in front of me.
03:55This is a commuter scooter, so we are looking at space, we are looking at comfort
03:59and as you can see, I'm not hitting anything, even if I turn the wheel completely.
04:04Okay, it does get in my way a bit, but it doesn't make it uncomfortable.
04:08Then apart from that, we get this really long seat, a wide seat
04:13and now for storage at the front, we can fit a full 20-litre water can,
04:19we can fit a 1-litre water bottle comfortably inside the small cubby in the front
04:25and now, moving on to the under seat storage, as you can see, we get this nightlight,
04:34we get a huge storage space.
04:37So these are all the convenience features.
04:39I'm missing one more thing, the external fuel cap.
04:43So at the rear, we get an external fuel cap,
04:45which basically means we don't need to get off the scooter when we're refuelling,
04:48basically adding to the convenience aspect of this.
04:51So now I've told you guys about the convenience, style and safety of the Destiny 125
04:59and the final two things that are left is the mileage and comfort.
05:04Now that I'm going to tell you when I'm actually riding the scooter
05:07and I'll also tell you guys about the power figures and how the whole scooter actually performs.
05:13So stay tuned and watch out for the GoPro view, which is just going to happen right now.
05:18Hey guys, now I'm on board the all-new Hero Destiny 125
05:24and now I'll be telling you about the power specifications, how it rides,
05:26the suspension setup, seat comfort.
05:29So yeah, so now in terms of specifications, well,
05:34this scooter gets a 125cc air-cooled engine that produces 9hp and 10.4Nm of torque.
05:43For a 125cc, it does feel a little underpowered.
05:48However, Hero has focused on mileage for this.
05:52So this is where the fourth pillar comes in, mileage.
05:55In terms of mileage, well, Hero claims 59 kilometers per liter,
06:00which is really good, especially for a 125cc scooter that is pretty, pretty phenomenal.
06:10So how it feels to ride?
06:13Well, I, so as I said, I'm six foot one.
06:17Now we'll come to the fifth pillar, which is comfort.
06:21So I'm six foot one.
06:23And as you guys can see, I don't know if you can see my legs,
06:26but I have a whole lot of space to the seat in front of me.
06:29Even if I move up close, I'm still fairly comfortable.
06:32I don't, I'm not hitting anything.
06:35Even if I move my legs in and out, I'm still really comfortable.
06:39We've got some cows on the road, sorry.
06:42But yeah, so apart from that, the seat comfort is tremendous.
06:49It is absolutely perfect.
06:51I'm extremely comfortable on the scooter.
06:54I don't feel any lower back pain.
06:55I don't feel any hand pain.
06:57The seat is well cushioned.
07:00It's not too soft, nor is it too hard.
07:03It's giving that little support that I need for my back.
07:06So now we're going on this little off-road section.
07:08So we'll talk about the suspension here.
07:10So I mean, even if I take it off this drop, right, it's really soft.
07:16It's really comfortable.
07:18I'm not struggling at all on the scooter and it's just really, really good to ride.
07:28The whole rider's triangle, very relaxed, not committed at all.
07:34Just like how we need a commuter scooter to be.
07:36So it does feel comfortable.
07:40It is well designed.
07:43It is well engineered.
07:45It's a really, really, really good commuter.
07:49And I mean, I don't know what else to say.
07:53It's just brilliantly designed, the scooter.
07:57So we've touched the five pillars now.
08:01Yeah, now with the scooter, as you can see, you can come into all these beautiful locations.
08:08And that's another one of the detestanies riding there.
08:11Now, as you can see, the scooter switched off by itself, right?
08:14So that's the i3s system kicking in.
08:16As you guys can see, i3s over here.
08:18So the i3s system is basically intelligent start-stop system, which is like your auto
08:26start-stop that you get in the cars.
08:29When you're riding in traffic, if you are idling for a certain amount of time, it will
08:34switch off and all you need to do is press the brake, give it some throttle and it cranks
08:39back up for you ready to go again.
08:42So this was our riding impressions of the Hero Destiny 125.
08:48Very comfortable suspension, tractable engine, smooth engine, comfortable seat and pretty,
08:57pretty good mileage, especially for a commuter.
09:00Now, in terms of display, I'm in some really harsh sunlight now, it's really hot, but I
09:06still can see the display easily.
09:08I can see my main readings, my speed, my range, the time and below that we have all
09:13our separate readings.
09:15So, yeah, that was the riding previously.
09:18Now, let's head back to the outer of the video.
09:27So, all in all, that was our ride, our first ride review of the Destiny 125.
09:33I hope you guys enjoyed this video and if you have any questions, make sure to drop
