This from the Miami Herald appreciate Dolphin Cain sending this our way,
00:02
but this is from that says body cam footage led police director
00:07
to reassign officer in Tyreek Hill detention.
00:12
Body cameras, they write body cam footage from the roadside
00:15
detention of Miami Dolphins player Tyreek Hill led to Miami
00:17
to a police department director, Stephanie Daniels, to temporarily transfer
00:21
one of the officers to administrative duty, she said Monday morning
00:24
in a brief interview, Daniel said that she had seen a portion of the body
00:28
cam footage from the officers involved in the pregame incident on Sunday
00:31
when he was handcuffed and placed on the curb during a traffic stop
00:34
on his way to Hard Rock Stadium.
00:35
Quote, I've seen some of it, Daniel said of the footage.
00:38
That is why one of the officers is placed on administrative duties.
00:42
Daniels is an appointee of Miami Dade Mayor Daniela Levine.
00:45
Cava has not said in public statements
00:49
if there was misconduct in the detention of Hill and press statements.
00:52
Hill called his detention unjustified and speculated
00:56
that what would have happened to him if he wasn't a celebrity in that situation.
00:59
So there we go.
01:01
The body cam footage, the county's police department has declined
01:04
to release the body cam footage, citing an ongoing investigation in the incident.
01:07
The Miami Herald has requested body camera video
01:10
from the Miami Dade police on Sunday.
01:12
Notice they have said just enough to give you.
01:18
To give the appearance
01:20
that something is being done while nothing is being done.
01:24
So which means it's going to get ugly.
01:28
Jeff Darlington reported last hour, Tyreeco received two citations
01:32
as a result of his traffic stop, careless driving and a seat belt violation.
01:37
So there you go.
01:38
So let me get this right.
01:42
Careless driving.
01:43
Yep.
01:44
Which is not as bad as reckless.
01:46
It doesn't sound as bad as reckless driving.
01:49
And a seat belt violation.
01:50
So at that point.
01:53
They're trying to charge him with as much as they possibly can
01:56
because they damn near curb stomped him.
01:58
That's right. Right.
02:00
Now, all I want to know is this.
02:06
What is it called again?
02:09
Not reckless driving, careless, careless driving.
02:13
Which means it wasn't reckless.
02:16
And a seat belt infraction.
02:19
And I would like to know.
02:22
When was the last time?
02:24
Any police department handcuffed somebody
02:28
and only charged them with that and put their face on the pavement?
02:33
I'll wait.
02:35
Because I'm going to say probably never.
02:38
It sounds like minor infractions.
02:42
And you got a guy on his face on the pavement.
02:47
And the only thing they can say to me right now.
02:51
Is he been reassigned?
02:54
Which means he's still getting paid. That's right.
02:58
Jeff Johnson also said Kaleas Campbell, who said after the game,
03:00
police told him that they briefly placed him in handcuffs
03:03
for disobeying a direct order.
03:05
Oh, so listen, boy, are we going to put you in handcuffs?
03:08
That's what they basically trying to say.
03:11
Did not end up receiving a citation for what?
03:15
What you going to give him a citation for? Being black?
03:18
Because that's about what it sounds like.
03:21
Y'all see, let me tell you something.
03:23
And I'm going to say this.
03:24
And I mean, every bit of this. Right.
03:28
The next time you hear somebody complain about this,
03:31
I don't want nobody to say nothing.
03:33
OK, all these people out here say, well, you should do this.
03:37
Well, you should do that.
03:39
Kaleas Campbell got handcuffed because he wouldn't listen.
03:42
That's it.
03:43
A grown ass man wouldn't listen like he's a damn child.
03:50
While his friend is faces on the pavement,
03:53
he shouldn't have no questions.
03:56
He shouldn't say nothing to authority.
03:59
Nothing.
04:01
You drive by and see your boy on the street like that
04:04
for a speeding infraction.
04:07
And you ask questions and then you get handcuffed.
04:10
Does nobody not have a problem with that?
04:15
I say just try being black, OK, and then get at me.
04:20
Wild man. He said that way.
04:23
Like I said, Braxton Berrios.
04:26
Hey, guy, pay attention next time.
04:28
You know, why don't you write?
04:31
The Miami-Dade Police Department told Darlington this morning
04:34
that it remains an internal investigation,
04:36
so they cannot provide details.
04:37
Of course not. Of course not.
04:39
Or why he was detained face down on the ground in handcuffs.
04:42
Oh, they're not going to say that because they don't have an answer.
04:44
One of the officers on the scene remains on administrative duty.
04:47
What does that mean today?
04:48
You know what that means?
04:49
You like doing a spreadsheet like, what does that mean?
04:51
No, it means nothing.
04:54
It just sounds good, right?
04:57
It sounds good.
05:00
Administrative leave means you still get your check.
05:02
Go hang out at home for a couple of days.
05:04
Now, I'm going to put another twist on it.
05:08
Look at it from an athlete's perspective.
05:12
If we get caught up in anything like that, right?
05:17
Everybody want answers and responses right away.
05:19
They want him suspended.
05:21
They want this.
05:21
They want the commissioner to do something.
05:23
They want the team to do something right now.
05:24
Of course.
05:26
Why is this any different?
05:28
When the shooting started,
05:29
they wanted to do something right now.
05:30
They wanted to do something right now.
05:32
Why is this any different?
05:34
When the shoes on the other foot, why is this any different?
05:36
Why shouldn't I feel that way?
05:37
When I see all these athletes before they have day-to-day in
05:40
court, getting suspended for a amount of time.
05:43
I will say to, you know, the media in this.
05:46
It does feel like they are trying to press Miami-Dade police
05:49
on this.
05:49
I don't know why they can feel like that.
05:51
Why should they?
05:51
Why should they have to see and understand where I'm coming
05:55
from?
05:56
I am speaking from the standpoint of all the things that I have
06:01
seen any time an athlete gets caught up in.
06:04
So, yeah, you want immediate repercussions.
06:07
Immediate repercussions.
06:08
Yep.
06:09
Everybody wants something to happen right away, right?
06:13
And now.
06:15
Something happened to an athlete.
06:19
And no, but oh, well, we're going to listen.
06:22
We're reviewing it.
06:23
We put it with I and nobody has a problem with it.
06:26
Well, the thing that's other crazy.
06:27
It's not only that.
06:28
What if he was tired?
06:29
What if he wasn't tired to kill?
06:30
But also like what if I were killed like if the officer
06:33
kicked him?
06:33
Like what if I what if I were kills like MCL got like busted
06:36
in the midst of this situation?
06:38
Like what if yeah, he couldn't have gone like it's pretty
06:40
amazing that he was able to very easily because let me
06:43
explain something to you.
06:44
I know a bunch of people that got their face busted up for
06:47
no reason because they had their hands behind their back
06:49
and the guy clipped them and they went face first on the
06:52
pavement.
06:53
So what if something like that would have happened?
06:55
Yeah, right?
06:56
Like we know.
06:58
Yeah, what would happen if he would have missed the game?
07:00
Yeah.
07:02
So like I would say this and I'm gonna be fair to both
07:08
sides of it because guess what?
07:12
I'm gonna do more than anybody would have done if it was
07:14
an athlete and I'm gonna say this if Tyreek had done something.
07:22
Right is if he was an aggressive if he got in his face.
07:28
Right if he had done something to warrant having his face
07:35
put on the pavement.
07:38
I would have a different conversation and I would be honest
07:42
about it and I would say hey when you in a situation like
07:46
that, it's your job to get out of it.
07:48
Okay, but with based on what they charged him with based
07:54
on what they charged him with.
07:56
I'm having a hard time seeing a man supposed to be on his
08:01
face on the pavement handcuffed.
08:04
I do have a statement from the police union on it.
08:09
Frog boy frog boy.
08:10
He's out.
08:11
See you frog boy.
08:12
This is from Andy Slater.
08:14
He has a statement from the police union.
08:18
This is what I said before the game before the Dolphins game
08:21
yesterday and it occurred where Tyreek Hill was placed in
08:23
handcuffs.
08:24
He wasn't placed in handcuffs.
08:26
Let me finish the statement before being released first to
08:29
be clear at no time.
08:30
Was he ever under arrest?
08:31
He was briefly detained for officer safety after driving in
08:35
a manner in which he was putting himself and others at great
08:38
risk of danger upon being stopped.
08:41
Mr.
08:41
Hill was not immediately cooperative with the officers on
08:44
the scene who pursuant to policy for their immediate safety
08:49
placed.
08:50
Mr.
08:50
Hill in handcuffs.
08:51
Mr.
08:52
Hill still uncooperative refused to sit on the ground and was
08:54
therefore redirected to the ground.
08:58
One situation was sorted out within a few minutes.
09:00
Mr.
09:00
Hill was issued to traffic citations and was free to leave.
09:05
No more again.
09:09
I would like to know.
09:12
What did he do that was so egregious that a guy had to karate
09:16
kid him and take him to the ground.
09:18
We would like to stress to the community to use this as an
09:21
opportunity to remember that is always best to obey lawful
09:24
police commands first and complain later.
09:26
We have worked hard across the communities to bridge the gap
09:29
between what people believe is law enforcement should and can
09:32
do and will continue to do so in this case while we wait for
09:36
the investigation to run its course based on what we know we
09:39
stand with the actions of our officers but look forward to
09:41
further open communication moving forward while we are
09:44
confident in the actions that led to stop Mr.
09:47
Hill as with any investigation.
09:49
We'll wait for the facts to come out along with an explanation.
09:52
Mr.
09:52
Hill may have for his actions that initiate the unfortunate
09:55
incident.
09:56
Like you already released the facts which you say what the
09:58
facts are that you kind of said that what they did was
10:04
okay.
10:05
That's basically what he said.
10:07
Yep.
10:08
I would just like to know like again.
10:11
What happened to the point where you had four guys and one
10:18
guy took the initiative to take him down that aggressively.
10:23
Right?
10:24
Yeah, like what like what like
