All new zero-emission vehicles, including electric vehicles, will soon be required to
00:07
use the JPJ e-plate, according to Transport Minister Lok Su-Fook.
00:13
He said existing ZEVs are not required to adopt the JPJ e-plate, but owners can voluntarily
00:18
switch starting in November.
00:21
Lok added that vehicle manufacturers and distributors can order the plates for customers through
00:26
jpjeplate.jpj.gov.my.
00:31
He said the JPJ e-plate launch only involves new ZEVs, and the ministry aims to ensure
00:36
smooth implementation.
00:39
Priced at 98 ringgit, each set includes front and rear plates, an RFID windshield sticker,
00:45
and delivery.
00:47
Lok said the design enhances visibility, includes anti-cloning features, and integrates RFID
00:52
technology for better safety and enforcement.
00:56
He added that a special bidding process for number plates with an EV index mark is available
01:01
until September 13th, with proceeds supporting public initiatives.
