00:00The DNA is all about adventure.

00:11We are exploring a new field, the super SUV.

00:14SUV or super SUV is polarized.

00:17You may have purists that say, oh, this is not the right car.

00:20And you may have a lot of people that say, oh, that's really a good idea.

00:24Let's go for it.

00:29SUVs used to be trucks, were workhorses, were things that regular people drove and worked on

00:35and maybe had on a farm and used as a tractor.

00:40If you look at the acronym SUV, Sport Utility Vehicle, clearly we're focused on the S.

00:45Putting dreams on driveways.

00:47This is uncharted territory.

00:50The Cayenne changed.

00:54A lot of numbers are backgrounds of British farming, British industry, also the military.

01:00Suburban has kind of followed the history of America.

01:05The Stenril.

01:06The Stenril will send the message that our time is back.

01:10That is very unique. We pride ourselves on our craftsmanship.

01:16My first memory of a new car was riding around in a 1962 Samba bus.

01:21In fact, I've got a picture of one of those.

01:23There's the family, there's me, that dark-haired kid in the middle, but that's my family.

01:33If we don't take the right decision, it will be extremely easy to destroy the incredible thing that has been done so far.

02:06Every 87 seconds, a vehicle passes by and the guys move on to the next one.

02:10So, 24-hour continuous operation.

02:13We've got more than 800 robots down in the plant.

02:15We need somebody that can program them, somebody that can maintain them and take care of them.

02:21The manufacturing industry is very important for Ava, especially automotive manufacturing.

02:27We're building the future. We're building the future for Chattanooga.

02:29We're building the future for ourselves and our families.

02:31We're building the future for Volkswagen America.

02:34The father was here, the son is here, and even the grandson, Mingo, started to work here in the factory.

02:41My son works here. He's been here about two years.

02:43It's pretty exciting. It's been fun to watch him grow and know the things he knows.

02:50He choked me up.

02:54A lot of people are married here. Actually, my husband works here also.

02:57We work together. Sometimes I dream about him.

03:00So, you know, it's like he never goes away. It's like mildew. He grows on you.

03:07John's my brother. Also, one of my many bosses that I have.

03:11It can be quite fun. I'm the younger one of the team.

03:14Obviously, the better looking. It's good. Good family connection.

03:21Manufacturing is fundamental to the American dream.

03:25It makes me smile because, you know, bring it on.

03:29Be warned, we've been doing it for a long time.

03:31That doesn't mean to say we sit on our laurels.

03:35But you better be good to compete with us.
