Tasmanian residents have been warned to stay on alert as melting snow could flow into overrun rivers, while tens of thousands of Victorians are still without power. Video via AAP.

00:00We have seen the river levels moderate overnight, which is good, we think we've seen the peaks
00:15in most of those systems, which is good news across the board.
00:19There are currently 17 warnings in effect, three of which are at Watch and Act levels.
00:24We have reduced the emergency warning to a Watch and Act for parts of the Derwent River,
00:31but there will be extended floodwaters in and around that area.
