00:44It's the first time since World War II that a far-right party appears set to enter a state

00:49parliament with the AFD polling at over 32 percent of the vote.

01:11The conservative Christian Democratic Union has fallen to second place in Thuringia but

01:16is slightly ahead in the polls in neighboring Saxony.

01:19The CDU's minister-president for the state, Michael Kretschmer, said his party was ready

01:24to govern.

01:39The Greens, one of the three parties that makes up Germany's ruling coalition, performed

01:43poorly in both states.

01:46The party's leader in the German parliament said he was more disappointed about the strong

01:50showing of the AFD than he was about the poor polling for his own party.

05:55Israel was disrupted by strikes protesting the government's failure to return hostages

06:02The strike came after hundreds of thousands poured into the streets after six hostages

06:07were found dead in Gaza.

06:09However, it was ignored in some areas like Jerusalem, reflecting deep political division.

06:14A labor court ruled the strike must end, accepting a petition from the government saying it was

06:19politically motivated.

06:21The head of Israel's largest trade union said it would abide by the decision and instructed

06:26members to return to work.

06:32Exit polls show that Azerbaijan's ruling party secured a narrow victory in Sunday's snap

06:37election.

06:39Initial results show President Ilham Aliyev's new Azerbaijani party won 68 out of 125 seats,

06:47down from 69.

06:49Altogether, 11 political parties are represented in the parliament as a result of these elections,

06:58but these are preliminary results.

07:01And so, and all other, just 10 political parties get altogether 13 seats in the parliament.
