Taipei prosecutors will seek an appeal to overturn Ko Wen-je's release without bail after two days of questioning. He was detained Friday and interrogated over the weekend concerning corruption accusations during his time as Taipei City mayor.

00:31The Taipei prosecutors have said that they are planning on seeking an appeal to that

00:36decision to let him go without bail.

00:40Now he was released around 3 a.m. last night after two days of questioning.

00:44Ke is a popular figure who is leading the Taiwan People's Party until now he's on a

00:50temporary break from that position.

00:53But now this scandal, this corruption allegations concerning profiteering during his time as

00:59Taipei City Mayor have put both him and his party under public scrutiny.
