00:00Let's look at the AFC Championship winner, the odds for the upcoming season.
00:08Where's the value?
00:11Where's the value?
00:12Where's the beef, Matt Stryker?
00:15It's in the chalk once again, and our producer, Sammy Arnell, was making fun of me about all
00:19my chalky picks this year, to which I said, what was the Super Bowl again last year?
00:23What?
00:24Oh, right.
00:25It was the 49ers and the Chiefs?
00:26Oh, yeah.
00:27I mean, here's where I struggle, and a lot of people, you know, they try so hard to look
00:33for who's the big long shot or whatever, instead of making big investments in the big favorites
00:37who are big favorites for a reason.
00:39Football's a tough game.
00:40Injuries are going to happen, and when they happen to big-time players, especially the
00:43quarterback position, the dynamic changes.
00:45Look at the Cincinnati Bengals last year.
00:47You lose Joe Burrow, those odds go straight out the window, right?
00:50Same thing would happen to the Chiefs if they lost Mahomes.
00:53But in the meantime, I'm going to look at the Chiefs again at, like, what's the number?
00:58Plus 350?
00:59Yeah, that's a pretty good investment on a team that is ready, willing, aware of the
01:05history in front of them.
01:07The first thing out of Patrick Mahomes' mouth after the Super Bowl last year is, well, now
01:10it's time to go get that three-peat.
01:12They know that nobody's ever done it.
01:14They want it bad.
01:15The AFC, they've kind of kicked around the last couple years a little bit.
01:19They really have.
01:20Now, the Bengals have been competitive.
01:22The Ravens have been competitive with them at times, too.
01:25That week one matchup between those two teams is going to be awesome.
01:28I can't wait to see that.
01:30Is it going to mean anything in December and January?
01:32No, of course not, because it's September.
01:34But it's going to be fun, and people will take too much out of it.
01:37The Chiefs lost week one last year at home.
01:39Do you remember?
01:40To the Detroit Lions.
01:42Detroit Lions almost went to the, you know, to the big dance themselves.
01:46They got awfully close last time I checked.
01:49So yeah.
01:50It's the only thing that's going to get away.
01:52Well, look, I'm still on the Chiefs.
01:54The Ravens, I think the Ravens are more appealing this year because now they can really run
01:58the football.
01:59I agree.
02:00But can they get enough play out of the wide receivers?
02:02And if Mark Andrews and any weird lingering issues again this year, health-wise, that's
02:06a problem.
02:07The Bills, hard pass, sorry, producer Sam.
02:11Hard pass on the Bills, sorry, Gabe Renzi.
02:15The Jets.
02:16Jets have the defense.
02:17I love betting the Jets to win that division and then betting against them in the first
02:21home playoff game.
02:22Is there anything more potentially chefs, kiss, Jets than that?
02:27But going back to the AFC, there is one team that is a quote-unquote long shot, is really
02:32interesting.
02:33And that team is not the Houston Texans, the darling of everybody.
02:37It's the Cincinnati Bengals.
02:38Why?
02:39Because they've got the quarterback that can go into arrowhead and beat Patrick Mahomes.
02:43Burrow has been that kryptonite.
02:45And I think that's something to keep in mind.
02:47So plus $750, these are my two bets, Chiefs, Bengals.
02:51You got your good, invest a couple of units in that favorite and then take a unit or two
02:57over onto the Bengals.
02:58I think you do pretty well.
03:00And given these numbers, plus $350, plus $550 for Chiefs and Ravens, respectively, I mean,
03:04look, you could split units almost, are being in a sense, and you can drop half a unit on
03:08the Texans, just returning the eight to one.
03:10There's a lot of ways to really make money because of these numbers.
