00:00Hi, welcome back to my channel.

00:02In this video, I will explain the ending of The Tiger's Apprentice.

00:04So, let's begin.

00:06The Tiger's Apprentice is a 2024 American animated fantasy film based on the 2003 novel

00:11of the same name by Laurence Yepp, and it is centered around a teenager named Thomas

00:15Lee, aka Tom, who was just not ready to accept the fact that he was special and different

00:19from the rest of his classmates.

00:21Tom had powers, but he was in denial for the longest time.

00:25But now the time had come when his grandmother was going to have that big conversation with

00:29him and make him aware of his destiny.

00:30So, let's find out what happened to Tom, if he was able to make peace with his reality,

00:35and if he was able to save humanity, please be aware the video contains spoilers, viewer

00:39discretion advised.

00:41At the beginning of The Tiger's Apprentice, we saw that Mrs. Lee's car was being chased

00:45by ghost-like creatures called the Yaogui.

00:47They wanted to stop Mrs. Lee and take the locket that she was wearing.

00:51The locket was called the Phoenix, and it was special because it had magical powers

00:54in it.

00:56The goddess Nu Qua used it to create humanity, and now the dark forces wanted it to destroy

01:00everything.

01:01That night, the warriors of the Circle of Twelve came to Mrs. Lee's rescue, and somehow,

01:06they managed to save her and her grandson from the evil Lu.

01:09The narrative moved 15 years ahead in time, and Mrs. Lee's grandson, Tom, was now a teenager.

01:15Tom knew that the entire high school used to call him names, and they bullied him by

01:18saying that his grandmother was a witch.

01:21Tom knew that his grandmother wasn't like others, and she did weird things like hanging

01:24wind charms and doing strange rituals.

01:27But he loved her, and he hoped that one day she would give up all her weird practices

01:30and live like a normal human.

01:32Tom had no clue what future had in store for him.

01:36He came from a family of guardians, people who had protected the Phoenix for a thousand

01:39years.

01:41His grandmother was waiting for the opportune moment to tell him that.

01:44She knew that a time would come when Tom would realize who he really was, but at that moment,

01:48he was in denial, and he was just not ready to accept the fact that he wasn't normal like

01:52his peers.

01:54Tom had a fight at his school, and he ended up doing something that surprised him, too.

01:58He pushed the bully, and that boy floated in the air and hit the ceiling.

02:02Tom knew that he had powers, but it was too bizarre for him to accept that fact.

02:07That day he came back home, he met Hu, who came to tell Mrs. Lee that it was about time

02:11she revealed to him what he was destined to do.

02:13But before Mrs. Lee could tell him anything, Lu, her adversary, attacked her house, as

02:18Tom had earlier taken down all the chimes that provided a protective shield.

02:22Lu killed Mrs. Lee that night, but Mrs. Lee managed to hand over her Phoenix locket to

02:26Tom.

02:27Tom's life changed overnight, and he wasn't able to process anything.

02:31Hu, who shapeshifted as a tiger, took him in his care and helped him make peace with

02:35the fact that he had powers and a purpose to accomplish in life.

02:39How did Mrs. Lee's death change Tom?

02:41Tom was trained by Hu, who knew that unless and until the former accepted who he really

02:45was, he wouldn't be able to harness his full potential.

02:48Hu told Tom that the locker was of utmost importance and that Lu would wreak havoc if

02:52she got it.

02:53The first time Tom came face to face with Lu was when he went alone to a castle and

02:57found out that Lu was Rav's foster mother.

02:59A deadly battle ensued, and Lu, making use of her magical powers, trapped a lot of warriors

03:04in her umbrella.

03:06Tom realized what was at stake, and he didn't know if he was even capable of doing what

03:09others wanted him to.

03:11Things were not right between Tom and Hu, and both had a lot of ego tussles and arguments.

03:16Hu was sick and tired of making Tom understand who he was, and Tom, on the other hand, believed

03:21that Hu was too hard on him at times.

03:23Tom wanted to avenge the death of his grandmother, but his heart and mind were not in sync.

03:28The belief that he could do it was lacking within him.

03:31Who knew that, unless and until Tom was convinced, they would end up on the losing side.

03:36The evil was growing stronger every day, and they needed to protect the phoenix to save

03:40humanity from perishing.

03:42Was Tom able to defeat Lu?

03:44Lu, in The Tiger's Apprentice, was finally able to take the phoenix from Tom's save,

03:48and the latter felt really guilty after letting everybody down.

03:52He knew how much was at stake, and he had no clue if he would ever get a chance to redeem

03:55himself.

03:57But Tom did get a chance, and finally, he could feel himself connected to the phoenix.

04:02He could sense it where it was, and he was able to locate it using his psychic powers.

04:06Hu was taken into captivity during the fight, but his apprentices soon made sure that the

04:10entire army that was being held in that blue umbrella was freed.

04:14Tom could see the phoenix, and he realized that he didn't have to fight Lu to get it.

04:18He held the stone firmly in his hand and healed the phoenix that had turned all black

04:21due to all the hate that Lu filled it with.

04:24The phoenix responded to its master, and it became what its master wanted it to be.

04:29Lu made it into a weapon to end humanity, while Tom made it an elixir from which all

04:32good things were born.

04:34At the end of The Tiger's Apprentice, Tom was able to defeat Lu, and he also took back

04:38the phoenix stone, making sure that her army of demons rotted in hell.

04:42How did Hu bring Tom back to life?

04:44During The Tiger's Apprentice's ending, Tom finally tasted victory, but the happiness

04:48was short-lived as he fell from the building and died.

04:51Hu was not ready to accept that, and he pleaded with the goddess Nu Hua to merge their souls

04:55so that he had a chance to bring Tom back to life.

04:58A similar thing had happened in the past when Hu gave his life trying to protect Mr. Li

05:02and Tom.

05:03At that time, Mrs. Li had merged her soul with him and brought him back to life, so

05:07it could be said that he carried a little of Mrs. Li inside him.

05:11The goddess told Hu that there was a possibility that both of them would die, but he was ready

05:14to take the risk.

05:16Tom was brought back to life, and Hu gave him the keys to his shop, as he didn't have

05:20a place to stay.

05:21Tom realized how Hu had been his guardian angel and how he was always there to protect

05:25him.

05:26Hu had turned white because of the merging of his soul with Tom, but then it was all

05:29worth it as now Tom considered him his family, and together they took a vow to fight evil

05:33and protect their world.
