With stories of botched surgeries abroad making headlines, we hit the streets of Birmingham to ask: How likely are you to consider getting a medical procedure done away from home if it saves you money? Are the risks worth it, and what impact do you think this trend has on the NHS?

00:00I don't know, anything that involves going under general anaesthetic is a bit scary, so no.

00:07I wouldn't be enticed to do it for cheap.

00:10Yeah, I'm a bit of a scaredy cat, so I don't think I would do it, but yeah.

00:14I think it is hard, isn't it?

00:16Because people who have got something wrong need it done on the NHS,

00:19because of where they are, but should it be their responsibility? Probably not.

00:24I wouldn't personally, but that's just because I'm a bit of a wuss and too scared to do anything like that.

00:31I think people need to have all of the information up front before they go out and do anything.

00:38But again, if it's something that they want personal preference,

00:42just as long as they've got all the information that they need up front,

00:45then as long as it's not putting a strain on the NHS when they come back for sort of reversal of procedures or anything,

00:52I think it's all just around communication and information,

00:54and making sure that they've got all of that information before they make any decisions.
