Downing Street officials draw up plans for announcing death of Larry the cat in similar manner to Queen Elizabeth II

00:00Downing Street officials are reportedly planning how to announce the eventual passing of Larry the Cat.
00:05The 17-year-old chief mouser, while currently healthy, is in his twilight years.
00:10The tabby was bought from Battersea Cats' home in 2011 by former PM David Cameron,
00:15originally as a pet for his children.
00:17Larry has since become a fixture of Downing Street and a cherished figure in British politics,
00:21outlasting five prime ministers.
00:23He's become well-known for his prowls around Downing Street,
00:26whether attacking pigeons or posing for red carpet photos.
00:30He's also famously refused Liz Truss the chance to stroke him.
00:33But as he beds further into his old age, his demise will happen at some point,
00:37and officials are getting ready for the day.
00:39There is set to be an official way that the Cat's death will be broken to the nation,
00:43with an alleged media plan currently being prepared.
00:46The cabinet website reads,
00:47he has captured the hearts of the great British public
00:50and the press teams often camped outside the front door.
00:53He joined the number 10 household and has made a significant impact.
