00:04The commercials for Axe seemed like a lot.

00:13and these are my GQ essentials.

00:21I would say one of the most essential elements is,

00:27Cutie, off.

00:28Good girl.

00:29A multi-purpose protection dog

00:31that you can have a lot of fun with, with friends.

00:34She'll bite them, cuddle them.

00:36Overall, find them anywhere in the darkness

00:38and protect you in their house.

00:40And she looks so cute, doesn't she?

00:41That's why her name is Cutie.

00:42We used to have a collar on her that says,

00:45don't mistake my kindness for weakness.

00:47Always have one of these with you.

00:50Packed cards.

00:52Yes.

00:53He is very, very gambit,

00:54but I've always, since I was a kid,

00:56kind of been fascinated with cards.

00:58I've never really studied magic or anything,

01:00but it just feels good to have cards in your hand

01:03and throwing them at your friends.

01:04Gotta always watch out.

01:07I don't know what came first exactly.

01:09Did I like cards before Gambit or not?

01:11I think Gambit probably had like a lot to do with it.

01:14He made them really, really cool.

01:15No one in this entire industry has like,

01:19looked out for me in the way that Ryan has.

01:23No one was asking for it.

01:24And it's just, he's a champion for it

01:26and I'll owe him for pretty much the rest of my life.

01:29Be in my buddy's movie and dress up

01:31like my favorite superhero.

01:32Like, I'll be happy with that.

01:36It's kind of like my comfort zone place.

01:39Like, cause you, you kind of can't take a bad picture

01:41with a Polaroid.

01:43It's so nostalgic for me.

01:44I could truly like talk about this thing forever.

01:47You could never have picked up a camera before in your life

01:50and take a picture of a Polaroid

01:51and it's somehow probably gonna look cool.

01:53The viewfinder is like not perfect.

01:55So it's kind of childlike.

01:57You can't perfectly measure it.

01:59Hopefully, hopefully they'll show you what that picture

02:02actually looks like.

02:03Do you believe in shaking them out?

02:05I only believe in shaking it,

02:06like a Polaroid picture because of Andre 3000.

02:09Polaroids play a bit of a sinister part in Blink Twice.

02:13It can take such a innocuous thing.

02:15Everybody knows the sound.

02:16Everybody knows like what the pictures look like.

02:18And you're like, oh, I love those things

02:20and kind of turn it and make it feel this

02:22like a ominous presence.

02:25And it's just fun.

02:28You can just keep doing it all day.

02:31This is very important.

02:33If you're gonna be cuddling a sometimes smelly dog.

02:37And it was Versace.

02:39When I was a model,

02:40I always wanted to walk in the Versace show.

02:44I was 20 years old, went to Milan for my first time

02:46being like, hi, please just hire me.

02:48I never got it.

02:49I never got the Versace show.

02:51Cut to, man, 20 more years later.

02:55I'm actually getting to like be the face of their fragrance.

02:59And it's really, I don't know,

03:00full circle strange like moment for me.

03:03You can put a lot of care into like how you look,

03:05what your outfit is.

03:06It's a bit of like the cherry on top.

03:08It's like the intention of what,

03:09how do you want people to like feel you in the room?

03:12Just wake up and go.

03:14The first fragrance I wore,

03:16I think that would have to be Curve.

03:19Bought it at Rite Aid

03:20or actually it was in Florida.

03:22It was like Eckerd's.

03:23Kid Macho that I played football with.

03:25He was like the pairing of Ice Breakers,

03:27gum and Curve.

03:29You gotta have Curve and Ice Breakers

03:30and it's a perfect like mix.

03:32Did you go through an Axe phase?

03:34I never went through an Axe phase.

03:35Axe was like way later.

03:36The commercials for Axe seemed like a lot.

03:38They were just like, oh!

03:41Like I did one spray of this and I, moderation kids.

03:47This next one is actually very nostalgic

03:49for so many reasons.

03:50This is the original Pussy Island lighter

03:53that now I wish I could kind of do this

03:56and it said blink twice,

03:57but it has a smiley face.

03:59You know, in the movie,

04:00we have a lighter that is a story point

04:02that you need to pay attention to

04:04and blink twice.

04:05And this is a big, big key to all of that.

04:08It was called Pussy Island, guys.

04:09And it was tested

04:11and people don't like hearing the word, apparently.

04:14I fell in love in creating this movie.

04:17I don't actually know my relationship

04:19with my partner outside of this film,

04:21so it's gonna be very interesting when the movie's over.

04:23It's just a really special, special thing

04:25to get to create with your partner.

04:28If you are thinking that you're in love,

04:30if you think that you wanna get married

04:33or have a baby with somebody,

04:35go find the hardest possible creative project with them.

04:37I don't care if it's like building a deck,

04:40painting a room,

04:41just go do something creative together

04:44and not just if you survive it,

04:45if you actually enjoy it.

04:47And needed that person during that journey,

04:51I would say that you're in a good place.

04:54If you don't, maybe you should, yeah, bail, run.

04:58I'm kidding, don't do that.

05:04I think that you need comfort things

05:05and your essentials

05:06and I don't like going anywhere

05:08without a picture of my little girl.

05:11She's very, very cute and she's so weird

05:13and I love her more than I can say.

05:15So can't go anywhere without her.

05:16Even in her little stare there,

05:20she's just plotting the whole time.

05:22You can tell that she's physically

05:24just plotting my demise

05:26or some sort of a joke or trick.

05:28She's a trickster.

05:29There's a friend of ours, Uncle Aaron,

05:31that is very clean and then he's a bit OCD

05:36and she stole all of the paper,

05:38like the toilet paper and paper towels

05:40in the entire house.

05:41And she put a non-rippable piece of toilet paper

05:45in his bathroom.

05:47He goes to the bathroom

05:48and then physically can't find toilet paper

05:50for about 20 minutes.

05:53So she's just constantly messing with people

05:55on a minute-to-minute basis

05:56and you can't stop it.

05:58It's just an unstoppable force.

06:00You don't need these tools exactly,

06:02but I kinda just like to mess around.

06:05One of my favorite things on an airplane

06:07is just grabbing a napkin

06:09and like a ballpoint pen

06:11and just, I don't know, sketch.

06:13Like, do whatever that you're actually feeling.

06:17Out.

06:18See what happens.

06:20So you kinda just kinda go away, in my opinion.

06:23If you want it to be something cool,

06:24it's probably not gonna be something cool.

06:26When I personally work hard on something,

06:28I'm like, oh, it sucks, I hate it.

06:30But right now, you're just kinda like,

06:31all right, I'm just gonna just scribble and be stupid.

06:34Art for me is a bit of a therapy in a way,

06:37like specifically something like this

06:39that you don't need it to be good.

06:41You don't need to come back to it.

06:42It's not asking to be good.

06:44It's not wanting to be good.

06:45Nine times out of 10, I'll do something

06:47and be like, oh, wow,

06:48there's this little cool part about it.

06:50You can actually be like, all right, I'm a clown now.

06:53We're going to be a clown now.

06:55No one cares.

06:56Ha ha ha.

06:59Pants generally are essentials in life.

07:02You will get arrested if you don't wear them.

07:04My go-tos are Dickies and Carhartts.

07:06You can wear them in a disaster situation.

07:08You can wear them while you're painting

07:10with your daughter in the backyard.

07:11They're just sort of infallible, in my opinion.

07:14I've grown up with them in so many different ways.

07:16I have a pair of Dickies that I've had

07:18since I was probably 18 years old.

07:22Like, I was framing houses in these things.

07:24And now they're my comfort clothes.

07:26They don't fit very well anymore.

07:28My butt's gotten bigger.

07:29I'll get back down to that weight.

07:32There's really not a better marriage

07:34for Carhartts or Dickies than just white t-shirts.

07:38For me, specifically Hanes is my go-to.

07:41Just a plain white tee.

07:42White tank tops, ribbed, not the weird sort of fitted ones.

07:48I was always gravitated to just like a very simple,

07:51old, tattered, white shirt.

07:53It's just a classic thing.

07:54I hate doing laundry.

07:56Like, I hate it more than I can possibly say.

07:58I had one year that I called

08:00the year of the fresh white tee.

08:01And I don't think I did laundry all year that year.

08:04I just wore white t-shirts that I just bought.

08:08Like, I'd be like,

08:09I can get like two wears out of this week.

08:10This is gonna be good.

08:11The year of the fresh white tee,

08:1299 or 2000.

08:14It's a beautiful year.

08:17I like Mezcal.

08:18It is so nice when it touches your lips.

08:20Look, Gloss Explorer is a brand that I just F with, man.

08:23It's just unbelievably clean and pure.

08:26There's not a lot of brands that can truly say

08:29that it was made in the most clean and intentional way.

08:33F you.

08:35Panic.

08:36Straight panic.

08:37I'm not gonna drink it,

08:38but in my mind, I'm drinking it.
