00:05Me encuentro con Ismael y Cynthia, que son parte del elenco de la segunda temporada de

00:11Ring of Power que pronto vamos a tener en Prime Video.

00:17The Queen Meryl is going through a very complex moment.

00:26She's grieving and also she wants to honor her father's legacy, but around her are

00:34like these vipers who want to take control.

00:37So how difficult is it to enter in this character?

00:41She's blind, a lot of people think that she's unfit to rule.

00:46So how was your process creating this character?

00:49Well yeah, she's definitely starting in a very tough place and I thought a lot about

00:55a person who essentially knows from a very young age that one day they will be a leader.

01:01So it means that their whole life, throughout their childhood, they are being raised with

01:06the understanding that one day they will be queen, one day they will lead their people.

01:11So when her father, the king, passes, not only is she in mourning, but there's also

01:17the recognition that very soon she's going to have to quickly step into that role when

01:23she wasn't necessarily ready to step into that role, and now she is blind.

01:29And as you say, there are clearly people around her that are not interested in having her

01:36sort of step into the leadership role that she's meant to.

01:39So all of that is very intellectual, it's easy to sort of understand that.

01:45But in terms of how to prepare or what to think, I try to keep in mind those things

01:52that I can relate to, just as a human being, as a person, you know, what it is to feel

01:58a sense of loss, what it is to feel isolated and alone in your thoughts, and really start

02:05from there, because I think for the audience, those are the relatable things.

02:10They don't understand, you know, what it is to be a queen, but we all understand what

02:14it is to grieve and to have loss.

02:16So I think you have to start with the most human emotions first.

02:21Everything else is sort of the big picture around you, so I just try to start from the

02:27emotional truth of that character, and then, you know, there are many other people that

02:33get to help tell the rest of the story.

02:41Ismael, tu personaje fue muy controversial, y en el momento en el cual entras en pantalla,

04:04del ser humano, aunque él sea un elfo, pero él tiene muchas cualidades como humanas,

04:09¿sabes?

04:10Tiene un corazoncito.

04:11Tiene un corazonzote, porque además eso siempre está sangrando, pero sí, fue un reto bien

04:17bonito y algo que aprecio mucho, porque a veces uno está haciendo un personaje específicamente

04:24en televisión, a veces entonces el personaje de temporada en temporada no cambia mucho

04:29y creo que en nuestro show ya de primera temporada a segunda temporada, por ejemplo, ambos de

04:37nuestros personajes ya han tenido una evolución, o sea, ha sido bien chévere poder hacer eso,

04:45pero eso sí, es muy difícil, el nivel de Poker Face, el nivel, ese nivel es un reto

04:54mayor porque ahora mismo que estamos sentados aquí como tranquilos, él no se sentaría

05:01de esta manera, ¿entiendes?

05:02Los elfos son, yo no sé si ni se sienta, ¿entiendes?

05:06Siempre está derecho, siempre hay una, o sea, las emociones son completamente distintas.

05:11Y estás peleando y Poker Face.

05:12Sí, y con la boca cerrada también, porque eso es otra cosa que los elfos no están respirando

05:19ni las emociones son iguales, las corridas que yo tengo en ese show y las peleas y mantener

05:25la boca cerrada, respirando todo por la nariz, es bien, es chévere, es bonito poder crear

05:31un personaje que sea tan retante.

05:37¿Te abandonarías a su destino?

05:39¿Recuerdan qué estaban haciendo cuando recibieron el e-mail, la llamada de van a estar en Reign

06:14La tristeza, el staycation triste que tenía se convirtió como que, y la conciencia, sabía

06:21quién yo era, me reconoció de otra cosa y me regaló una botella de champán.

06:25Así que yo terminé allí en la bañera del champán, tranquilo.

06:55¿Cuándo te llamaron?

06:56El verano de 2020 cuando recibí la llamada.

06:59Pero inicialmente, similarmente, yo audicioné por un papel diferente la primera vez.

07:06Y así, tu sabes, tuve todas mis audiciones, leí para Bayona, hice todo y luego no lo

07:13conseguí.
