00:05Mayor Alice Guo exit the Philippines.
00:08In a statement on Wednesday, August 21, Marcos says, quote,
00:12The departure of Alice Guo has laid bare the corruption that undermines her justice system
00:16and erodes public trust.
00:18Let me be clear, heads will roll.
00:20Justice Secretary Boeing Remulia also announced a thorough investigation into Guo's escape.
00:25Remulia earlier ordered the Bureau of Immigration to immediately submit a report on how Guo was
00:30able to exit the Philippines.
00:32Guo is accused of faking her Filipino citizenship and having links to illegal Philippine offshore
00:37gaming operators.
00:38Some speculate that she's part of a criminal scheme involving the trafficking and torture
00:43of workers and of being a spy for China.
00:45Authorities say she left the Philippines in mid-July and traveled to Malaysia, Singapore
00:50and Indonesia.
