00:00The aggressive and dangerous manoeuvring of the China Coast Guard returned to the port

00:06in the vicinity of Escoda Shoal, where the Philippine Coast Guard's ships were stranded.

00:13This is Patrick De Jesus' report.

00:17A hole with more than 2 feet and 3 feet wide

00:23in the auxiliary room on the port side of the BRP Bagacay near the auxiliary engine

00:29and more than 1 meter in the starboard quarter of the BRP Cape Enjanio.

00:35These are the ships that were stranded by the Philippine Coast Guard

00:39when they were hit by the ships of the China Coast Guard

00:42due to the aggressive and dangerous manoeuvring of the CCG.

00:47When the incident happened,

00:49past 3 o'clock this Monday in the vicinity of Sabina or Escoda Shoal

00:55while the CCG ships were heading to Lawak and Batag Island

01:01to resupply the people stationed there,

01:04the 13 station posts of the BRP Bagacay were also destroyed

01:09because their starboard quarter was also damaged

01:12while the engine exhaust of the BRP Cape Enjanio was damaged.

01:17No person of the CCG was injured in the wreck

01:20and the resupply mission was continued.

01:23They didn't go back. They're still completing their mission as we speak.

01:27It's still going to be evaluated by naval architects,

01:31people with the right background to evaluate the seaworthiness of the vessel.

01:37But as I said, despite of these damages,

01:40the commanding officer of 4410 and 4411 still decided to pursue their resupply mission.

01:47The Chinese ships stopped pursuing their mission

01:50when they noticed that the CCG ships were not heading to the BRP Teresa Magbanwa

01:55which was still in Escoda Shoal since April.

01:59Therefore, we can just assume that the Chinese government thought

02:04that those 44 meter vessels are really intended to reinforce our presence in Escoda Shoal.

02:12But for the information of everyone,

02:15these 44 meter vessels are just going to carry out a routine resupply operation

02:22for our Coast Guard troops deployed in Lawak Island and in Pata.

02:28According to the PCG, this is the most dangerous crime committed by their ships

02:34because of the harassment of the China Coast Guard.

02:37The National Security Council also lied

02:40and called the Chinese Coast Guard misleading

02:44that the Philippine ships were intended to resupply.

02:48That short video does not tell the entire story.

02:52It's a spliced video. It's a misleading video.

02:55It again shows China as the benevolent actor here.

03:01We again condemn this deliberate attempt by the People's Republic of China

03:09to change the narrative and create their own scenarios

03:14on the reality of what happened this morning.

03:16The Philippines and China have a provisional agreement

03:19but this is just part of the role remissions of the BRP Sierra Madre in Ayungin Shoal

03:24and there are other talks and consultations in other parts of the West Philippine Sea.

03:29Meanwhile, the retired Supreme Court Associate Justice Antonio Carpio

03:35reaffirmed that the government should file a new arbitration case against China

03:40when it comes to the Extended Continental Shelf.

03:43In the 2016 Arbitral Award, it was decided that there is no basis for the nine-dash line of China

03:49for the whole South China Sea.

03:52100% China will lose because they're so far away.

03:55The world will rally behind that arbitral award.

03:58So I've been pushing our DFA and our government to file another arbitral award.
