Thousands rally in Israel to call for hostage release and Netanyahu's resignation

00:00Like every Saturday since the start of the war, these Israelis are demonstrating.

00:05They're demanding the rapid release of the hostages,

00:08111 who are still being held in Gaza,

00:1139 who have been declared dead by the Israeli army.

00:15We are broken, we are sad, we are tired.

00:20We wake up in the morning thinking about the hostages.

00:24Maybe this will be the day when they come home.

00:27Until the hostages are home, negotiations mean nothing.

00:31Every week for the past 10 months,

00:33criticism of the Israeli Prime Minister has grown louder.

00:36Benjamin Netanyahu is accused of taking advantage of the situation to stay in power,

00:41and protesters are calling for his resignation.

00:44We have a Prime Minister that is not so much willing to release the hostages,

00:49he's not so willing to finish the war, because he has his own interests.

00:54We don't believe that the government is leading us to the right place.

00:57We don't believe in this government at all.

01:00We want our hostages to be back,

01:02and we want to find some sort of solution to what's happening here.

01:06Ceasefire talks were held in Doha on Thursday and Friday,

01:10and according to US President Joe Biden, an agreement has never been so close.

01:15While Israeli negotiators expressed cautious optimism,

01:19Hamas officials dismissed the closeness of the deal,

01:22saying it was an illusion and that they will not accept Israel's new conditions.
