The Sports Junkies react to Dan Quinn's comments about how the Washington Commanders are still searching for one of their receivers to stand out and take over the number two spot.

00:06Where are you at with the wide receiver 2 search?

00:09I would say we are right in the middle of it.

00:11And so you'll see a lot of guys in today.

00:14You'll see 2, 3, 4, 5.

00:17There's a lot of guys that are really battling.

00:19I've been really impressed with Olamide, and I thought he's had a really strong camp.

00:25I'm looking forward to getting Luke some extra work into here.

00:28Jahan, Diami.

00:30So that's where we're at.

00:32And then the special teams is going to have a factor in that as well.

00:35Do you expect Jahan to play the similar volume of snaps as he did last week?

00:38Probably.

00:39Yep, I would say.

00:40I don't know if it'll be the exact same, but it'll be in the similar space.

00:43Same high volumes on the other guys that I listed as well.

00:48What would you like to see more or less of from him?

00:52Just having come in new season with any new player, what would you like to see?

00:55Yeah, I think with all the guys that we were talking about at that spot,

00:59the urgency, the run game, the pass game, so the quickness in and out of breaks.

01:06So not everybody plays the same spot, Nicky, but I do want to see with he

01:10and with all the other guys really finding some really competitive moments

01:15that plays after the catch, the blocks at the point of attack.

01:19Sometimes even in man-to-man during this phase of evaluation

01:23that he beat the person even though the ball didn't go to that spot.

01:27So I'm really trying to evaluate them with and without the ball.

01:33I mean, think about it.

01:34That first question was, Coach, where are you in the wide receiver to search?

01:39It's not like he said, Jahan's our number two.

01:41No question.

01:42Jahan's our number two.

01:43No, he goes, we're right in the middle of it.

01:45Right.

01:46Based on the reporting, and obviously I haven't been there.

01:49I'm too lazy.

01:50But based on the reporting, I'm going to guess Zaccheaus has got a head start on it.

01:55He's the first guy he mentions.

01:57First guy, yep.

01:58Everybody says he's been dynamite.

02:00I know even just from my dumb eyes, he popped for me in the Jets scrimmage,

02:05and I don't even think he had a catch, but I remember him popping for me.

02:11De'Ami's had a great camp by all accounts, and De'Ami's big advantage is

02:16De'Ami's willing to do anything.

02:17De'Ami plays on a bunch of coverage teams.

02:20He's very versatile.

02:22Now, Lemonade's a small guy.

02:24I'm looking, he's listed at 5'8".

02:26Doesn't matter.

02:27Played at UVA.

02:28Productive.

02:29And then he's been in the league since 2019.

02:33But we mentioned him.

02:34But has Lemonade ever had a season even as productive as Jahan Dotson?

02:40No, but I don't think so.

02:41Maybe he just didn't have the opportunities.

02:43I don't think so, but he's just popping.

02:45And this is a brand-new staff, and they just want to see what you got.

02:47And my understanding is Jahan's not doing anything wrong.

02:50He's just not popping.
