00:03CHAPTER 2 THE DANGERS OF THE WORLD

00:07Princess Zelda was sitting on the balcony outside her bedroom,

00:10staring out at the open land of Hyrule. She was getting a horrible case of cabin fever,

00:16longing to find out what was happening out there. This castle was her prison that she was never able

00:21to leave, not even to go out to the town market. Her father wouldn't let her, saying that it was

00:27dangerous out there. Not only was she curious about the outside world, she wanted to find the

00:33boy in her dream. She knew he was the one from the prophecy. A sigh of exasperation escaped her lips.

00:40She felt so caged in, she could scream. In fact, she opened her mouth to do exactly that,

00:46but she heard the sound of her room door opening.

00:49The girl swung around to see Impa coming in, as she expected.

00:54Her father never came to her room. If he wanted to talk to her, or her to him,

00:59he would have told her to come to his quarters.

01:02Princess Zelda, it's time for supper, Impa announced.

01:06Zelda looked back at the open field.

01:08I'm not hungry.

01:10Impa looked at her with concern.

01:12Are you sick?

01:13I am, Impa, I'm sick of being stuck in here, why is it I cannot leave the castle?

01:18With a sympathetic look the older woman replied.

01:21You know why, it's very dangerous out there.

01:24If you become hungry later then just call and we'll bring you a plate.

01:28Zelda turned and watched her attendant leave the room.

01:30Finally, after a minute, she lost her cool.

01:34If they're not going to let me out, then I'll just go out myself.

01:37Knowing that it was cliché, but it was the only thing on hand,

01:41the girl gathered as many blankets as she could find.

01:44She tied them together and threw it over the balcony after it was attached to the edge.

01:48Very carefully, she climbed over the edge and shimmied down the blankets.

01:53When her feet touched the ground, the princess let out a sigh of relief.

01:58It was like she had been suffocating, and now she could finally breathe again.

02:03She scanned the field.

02:04It was so empty and flat.

02:06Not the kind of place you'd like to be in the middle of a lightning storm.

02:10She went walking around the land without going anywhere in particular.

02:13After a while she came across a dirt path,

02:16and contemplated for a while on whether she could follow it or keep going along the worn path.

02:21Well I don't want to get all dirty, so I better keep going, she said to herself.

02:26But suddenly a little puppy dog came by barking at her.

02:30She was generally an animal lover so she melted at the sight of it.

02:33Oh, what a cute puppy dog, she cooed at the animal.

02:37Come here.

02:38The puppy came to her quickly, jumping up at her.

02:41Zelda ran her hand over his fur and patted his head.

02:44Hello, yes what a good puppy you are, she spoke in a baby voice.

02:49The dog suddenly bolted away from her playfully, and ran up the dirt path.

02:53Hey, come back doggie, she called and ran after it, not caring anymore if she got dirty.

03:00She continued to follow the dog up the dirt path and over a bridge,

03:03not really watching where she was going.

03:05When she decided to actually find out how far she had gone, a very bad feeling came over her.

03:12The puppy disappeared from behind a bend, but she didn't want to follow it anymore.

03:16She turned around to head back but ran into a tall body of another woman,

03:20who was wearing a purple outfit with a cloth over her mouth.

03:24She stumbled back but didn't fall over.

03:26Oh excuse me, I'm sorry, I'm just in the wrong place.

03:30Zelda tried to walk away, but the dog didn't let her.

03:33I'm sorry, I'm just in the wrong place.

03:34Zelda tried to walk past her, but the lady grabbed her arm to stop her.

03:38Not so fast child, you look familiar.

03:41Another woman wearing the same outfit came up to them.

03:44Hey Cathydra, who do you have there?

03:46This girl has trespassed onto our territory.

03:49Cathydra replied, giving Zelda a glare.

03:52Cathydra, do you know who this girl is?

03:55The other woman sounded shocked.

03:57Who? This is Princess Zelda.

04:00Cathydra looked surprised.

04:01There's no way, must be someone that looks like her.

04:05The princess would never be just wandering around aimlessly without guards.

04:09It is. Just look at what she's wearing.

04:12You think anyone other than a princess would wear that?

04:16The other woman reassured. The first woman looked at her closely.

04:19You're right, it is the princess.

04:22What are you doing so alone and far away from the castle my dear?

04:26Aye, aye, she started.

04:28But before she could answer, the second woman interrupted her.

04:32Cathydra, do you have any idea what ransom we can get on her?

04:35The two women smirked at each other, having the same thoughts.

04:39This gave Zelda a very bad feeling.

04:42Zelda was thrown into an area where the only way you can get out

04:46is through the window or the roof, which were both high up.

04:49And there was no chance of her reaching it.

04:52She yelled up at the woman that threw her in there.

04:55Now you keep quiet kid, answered the woman.

04:58I'm warning you, Zelda yelled, trying to sound firm.

05:02But her voice was still meek, and no one would really take her seriously.

05:05I'm the princess of Hyrule, and if you don't let me go you'll be severely punished.

05:10There was no answer. She kicked her feet at nothing and sat on the ground,

05:14bringing her knees up toward her chest and wrapping her arms around them.

05:18She regretted her decision to leave the castle without anyone knowing,

05:22and could only imagine how angry her father would be when she was found.

05:26And the whipping she'd get from him made her shiver.

05:29Maybe she didn't want to go home as much as she thought.

05:33She had no idea how long she sat there, and she started to doze off in the cold evening,

05:38until she heard her name being called.

05:41Princess Zelda.

05:42Her head shot up and looked toward the window,

05:45seeing none other than Impa standing there holding a rope.

05:49Joy filled her at the sight of her attendant.

05:51Impa, she cried out.

05:53Shush, the older woman shushed her and tossed the rope down.

05:57Quickly, tie it around your waist, hurry before they come back.

06:01The girl grabbed the rope and tied it around her waist,

06:04then held on as the older woman pulled her up.

06:08They skillfully made their way out of the thieves' fortress and back to the castle.

06:13She wondered how her attendant knew how to sneak around so well.

06:16She was like a ninja, and after they made it back to the castle,

06:20Impa took the girl back to her quarters.

06:23Father must be very angry with me, Zelda assumed.

06:26He doesn't know, Impa replied.

06:29Zelda's face brightened with relief.

06:32Really? You didn't tell him?

06:34Don't look so relieved yet, young lady, you still disobeyed.

06:38Impa grabbed a hairbrush off her dresser.

06:41The girl's eyes widened in fear.

06:43No Impa, please don't, she begged.

06:46I could always tell your father, and he'd use the belt on you.

06:50Impa took the girl's silence as an agreement.

06:52All right, come over here.

06:54The older woman sat on her bed.

06:57The younger girl hung her head and walked to her impending doom.

07:00At least the doom of her backside.

07:03When she reached Impa's side, the older woman pulled the girl over her lap,

07:07lifting her dress and petticoat up so that her posterior was revealed only in her undergarments.

07:13She then stated slapping Zelda's rear firmly, the sting going through her thin underwear.

07:19The girl yelped out with each swat,

07:21and this went on for a minute until Impa pulled down her underwear and picked up the brush.

07:26Zelda gasped out in shock.

07:29The hairbrush on the bare butt was almost as bad as the belt.

07:32No Impa, please leave those up, she begged, kicking her legs wildly.

07:36I'm sorry, princess, but you deserve this,

07:39Impa replied and started smacking her already red-bottomed cheeks with the brush.

07:45The girl squealed out with each strike of the hardwood.

07:49After another minute she fell limp and just cried over her attendant's lap.

07:53When she finally dropped the brush, Zelda was sobbing openly.

07:58Impa pulled her into a hug and rocked back and forth gently,

08:01while rubbing her hand over the sobbing child's back.

08:04It's okay, calm down, it's all over, Impa cooed softly.

08:09After a few minutes the girl's sob slowed down to the occasional sniffle.

08:13Eventually she fell asleep.
