Dr. Dre's training to compete in archery for Team USA at the next Olympics, and his buddy Snoop Dogg's already got the perfect nickname for him ... and it's a nod to Mel Gibson.

00:06had this much fun before. So I said this on a previous interview that my son bought me

00:11this setup because I used to do this when I was in junior high school. I think I was

00:15maybe 13 or 14 years old and he knew that and he bought me this setup and I started

00:21just going back and playing around and shooting and I realized that, yeah, I'm pretty good

00:25at it. So, and the Olympics are here in 2028, so why not try out for it?

00:32How exactly do you train? Because these athletes train full time for years.

00:36Well, it's right here in my backyard. So everything is here at my house, my studio, my gym. This

00:44is in my backyard and I plan to get a teacher and I have four years to become outstanding.

00:50You do realize if this happens, you will become everything for the LA Olympics, no,

00:57but I'm actually real.

00:58I told my guys yesterday, I told my guys in the studio yesterday, you'll be begging me

01:02to take off my gold medal. Snoop actually called me yesterday and he said all the guys

01:09in his place are calling me Braveheart.

01:13If you were to actually make the team, it's not improbable to say they might want you

01:17to light the actual torch.

01:19I don't know about that, but you know, we'll see. We'll see. I think it's going to be fun

01:23and I'm pretty sure that I can bring some attention to the sport, especially with it

01:28being here in LA.

01:29I want to hear it from you, why this is important to you and why you're doing it, because I

01:34think this, honestly, this is really inspirational.

01:36Well, I just feel like I'm always trying to challenge myself and I'm working harder and

01:41harder on being a bigger and better person. And I'm actually excited about the discovery

01:48of the person and the man I'm going to become in the future. So who knows what's waiting

01:53for me? There's probably something waiting for me that I don't even know exists just

01:57yet. So this is just a piece of that.
