00:12I don't know how to explain it, but it feels like there's two halves of my life.

00:19The good half, you know, before all this started, before she got sick.

00:24And then there's the sh** half.

00:25And the half, present company excluded, is the half I don't want to get better at dealing with.

00:32You seem like a passion project for everybody.

00:34What was it like with you guys working together and playing together

00:36and seeing this small but mighty cast?

00:38It's an incredible cast.

00:40I was blown away by the phone calls I would get from Robert, the director,

00:45and said, oh, we just got this person, Elizabeth Shue or Matt Walsh or Alex Schiff.

00:49It's an incredible cast.

00:51You know, anytime you do an indie film, it's about the art.

00:54It's about telling a story that you want to tell.

00:56And I just love this story.

00:58And, you know, I hope that people, you know, watch it and feel some sense of hope.

01:03You know, we all experience loss in some way.

01:05It's the unfortunate part of life, you know, and growing up.

01:08And I just feel like this does a really good job of telling a story about loss,

01:13but with some hope at the end of it.

01:16Do you go back and forth between loving acting more or loving being a musician more?

01:20Or is it neck and neck?

01:22It really depends, honestly.

01:25I feel fortunate that I don't really have to choose between the two.

01:29I think, you know, 10, 15 years ago, there was that thing where you had to say,

01:33I'm only doing this.

01:36And the greats that kind of paved that path for me to be able to step in and do both.

01:40I'm eternally grateful.

01:41This movie really examines the parent-child relationship.

01:44Are you trying to pick projects now that you know your daughter is going to be watching one day?

01:46Does that play into when you pick a film?

01:49I think it plays into not only the film and TV side of things, but also the music.

01:52You know, my entire perspective on life changed when we had our beautiful little girl.

01:57And I feel like I have more depth as a person,

02:01which then allows me as an actor and a singer and musician to have more depth,

02:06you know, and to have a different perspective.

02:08And, you know, picking a project like this isn't totally in my control.

02:12It's a sort of a combination of things just going right, coming together.

02:16But I can't wait for her to watch it one day

02:18and for us to have a bowl of popcorn and watch it together.

02:30I mean, I was shocked.

02:31I think I said it because she looks so cute.

02:35And then she just repeated it.

02:37And now we can't get her to stop saying it.

02:46that you know she's going to upstage you because of how beautiful?
