00:00Brandon Ayuk, is he going to stay in San Francisco?
00:06Is he going to go to the Steelers?
00:08Will a trade be accepted?
00:10Will he sign a new deal in San Fran?
00:13So many questions as of this moment.
00:15This was the latest update yesterday afternoon from the NFL Network's Ian Rappaport, that
00:20the Steelers have a trade in place that San Francisco likes.
00:25They also have the contract mostly worked out for Brandon Ayuk.
00:29Would he make his way to the Steel City?
00:31If San Francisco signs off, the deal is done.
00:34But one of the holdups is the fact that the 49ers also have extended a long-term extension
00:39for Brandon Ayuk.
00:41But he is yet to sign.
00:42Lee Seaguy, peer into your football crystal ball and tell us where Brandon Ayuk is going
00:48to play in 2024.
00:50For the 49ers or for the Steelers or somewhere else?
00:54I think it's going to be the 49ers right now, guys.
00:56Watching this situation play out and knowing what the Steelers have in terms of collateral,
01:02I don't think he's going to go to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
01:04Would the Pittsburgh Steelers welcome Brandon Ayuk?
01:07Absolutely.
01:08But who are they going to give in return?
01:10Unless they're given three number ones, I don't know how the San Francisco 49ers accept
01:15that deal.
01:16What are you going to give them?
01:17Old man Van Washington or Van Jefferson and Quez Watkins in return outside of George Pickens?
01:23They just drafted Roman Wilson.
01:25What is the collateral that San Francisco is getting in return?
01:29They turned down Amari Cooper and the Cleveland Browns not too long ago.
01:33That's a better deal potentially than what Pittsburgh could offer.
01:37So I just don't think it's going to the Steelers.
01:39I think he plays for San Francisco reluctantly this year.
01:43And also, what is going on with the San Francisco 49ers with this contract negotiation, Joe?
01:48Because we've talked about this many times.
01:49Like, let's just say if I played on a franchise like the Carolina Panthers, like, hey, you
01:52know what?
01:53By the time you're going to be at the end of your prime, we're probably going to start
01:56getting good.
01:57That's why we'll move you here.
01:58Why did it even get to this point?
01:59And what's the reluctance of paying Ike outside of he wants more money than Justin Jefferson?
02:04This should have been signed, sealed and delivered.
02:06What, 26, 27 years old in the middle of his prime on a team that your quarterback, that's
02:10your favorite weapon here.
02:12How did we even get to this point?
02:13Well, I think part of it, Donnie, when you look at Brandon Ike and the numbers don't
02:18lie, right?
02:19Breakout performance over 1300 yards.
02:21He had very explosive plays in terms of over 17 yards per catch.
02:26I think that led to all wide receivers, but the 75 receptions and the perception of how
02:31you look at Brandon Ike, are you putting him in the same, you know, categories, A.J.
02:36Brown?
02:37Are you putting them there with Jamar Chase and C.D.
02:40Lamb and Justin Jefferson?
02:42Or is he a touch below that?
02:43He wants that type of money, 30 million per year.
02:47But the perception I think is that Brandon Ike is not in that level.
02:51I don't think he's in that level either.
02:53Even though we had a breakout performance, I think you put Brandon Ike on another team.
02:58I don't know if he's going to put up that type of numbers in terms of an offense.
03:02So we'll see how it plays out.
03:03Is he worthy of definitely 20, 22 million?
03:07Absolutely.
03:08But 30 plus per year, I think is a long shot guys.
