00:00It happened with my daughter Mila, I mean there's been a

00:03million things you've seen him, but and like my husband is

00:07always like what you know why did you say you think it's

00:10great when other girls have crushes on me people are coming

00:13out of the woodworks, you know, I'm like I didn't know that

00:15that headline would be a thing I just meant I think you're

00:19cute and so that other people do too great, you know, but my

00:232 years ago or maybe 3 when my daughter first my eldest first

00:27went to sleep away camp. I received a letter that was like

00:30you know dear mom when his daddy going to come get me and

00:33I read it on air because it just was so typical of any of

00:36us that have ever gone to camp and Mister families

00:40and she first of all you know of course the mail was delayed

00:45site by the time I read it she was perfectly happy and no

00:48longer homesick at camp, but I got like calls from the camp

00:53like oh my gosh, everything's OK, you know overreaction it

00:56did go viral. You know, I'm sure your magazine picked it

00:59up many did and she was humiliated like it's on

01:03youtube so I think it is that was a really good lesson

01:07because it was innocuous it was just about being homesick but

01:10it bothered her and so I think as my kids get older and I know

01:13hoda and I talk about this constantly we try to navigate

01:16like what their story to tell you know, and and if we're ever

01:20stepping over something that would make them feel bad later

01:24because things exist forever now which is not it in the case

01:28of when we were growing up, you know, so I think it was a

01:31really good lesson because it was it was innocent, it was

01:34about how much she missed us and it's still kind of

01:37embarrassed her. And so

01:40anyway, you know I I have stopped sharing every single

01:45letter and thing that they have said

01:47all the time he's like I just got you know, a magazine just

01:51wrote that you said that I was you know whatever it was he's

01:54like you've got to stop and I'm like but honey, you're my

01:57father, you know, you're the funny

01:59the counter part to me. He totally does and he gets that I

02:04mean he's we've been together for 20 years in September which

02:08is not married but dated for 20 years so he totally understands

02:13who I am and let's be be me, but I also appreciate that sort

02:17of like tug and pull where he's like hold on and he don't share

02:21that much because it's I want to be a respectful partner and

02:25then an open partnership where we can both tell each other how

02:28we feel so yes, he definitely is and I think therefore I'm not

02:31as open as I probably would be.
