00:37Will's brother Prince Harry has been sporting a beard for years now, and it's caused a great
00:41deal of tension between the spare and the heir.

00:52Meghan Markle in 2018, and according to his memoir, Will wasn't happy about that. Harry

01:01beard and someone told him to be a good boy, run along, and shave it. He hated the idea
01:06of me enjoying a perk he'd been denied.
01:08Will even tried to pull rank to get his little brother to bare his cheeks, according to Harry,
01:13who wrote,
01:14At one point he actually ordered me, as the heir speaking to the spare, to shave.
01:18Will and Kate have kept a low profile this summer, and Will's whiskers are evidence of
01:23that. There were rumors that the pair would appear in Paris, but that didn't pan out.
01:27Kate, however, was courtside at Wimbledon back in July. But how low-profile is it to
01:31declare a beard war with your high-profile bro? Surely Will knows the world is going
01:36to forensically examine his follicles.
01:39But one royal insider tells the Daily Beast that's all part of the plan, saying,
01:43William and Kate are always very keen to present themselves as normal and normal guys when
01:47they go on holiday, don't shave for a week or two. Coming out in a craggy beard and a
01:51polo shirt while on holiday is much smarter than putting on a suit and tie. They have
01:55perfected normal as their brand image.
01:58Many royal watchers prefer Will with a bit of beard. One Instagram user posted,
02:02I had to watch that again just to see William stubble. Wowza.
02:06And one ex-user had to cool down after seeing Will look so hot above the collar, writing,

02:13Meanwhile, the BBC reports that the Beard Liberation Front, an interest group that campaigns
02:18in support of beards, isn't sold yet on Will's new chin friends, saying,
02:23We're continuing to review Prince William's latest beard and assessing if it is contributing
02:27to a positive image of the hirsute in the public eye.
