Bob Holder is the world's oldest competing cowboy. At 94 years of age, he was honoured at one of Australia’s most beloved rodeos at Mt. Isa Mines, and still had a few tips and tricks to share for young up and comers.

00:12A Cootamundja local, Bob Holder makes the 2,200 kilometre journey to the Mount Isa Rodeo every year,

00:21but this year was special.

00:23He was honoured with an exclusive over 90s belt buckle,

00:28a tribute to his legacy that inspires generations of riders across the country.

00:44Today it's been so lovely that we can honour Bob Holder, who is our oldest competitor at 93 years,

00:50and he's a true gentleman of the sport.

00:53With a 78-year career under his belt, the 93-year-old reveals how he's stayed so active for so long.

01:05At the event, Mr Holder rode with the youngest roping competitor,

01:09nine-year-old Tate Smith from Tamworth, New South Wales.

01:13With an 84-year age gap between them, they raced down the arena, ropes in hand,

01:19proving age is just a number.
